Just because a line may fall during a storm doesn't always mean that it immediately becomes de-energized. Always assume a line is live. There was a lot of electricity hitting the ground in these pictures. No matter the situation, if you see a downed line, STAY AWAY and call us at 1-866-GREYSTONE.

We are now officially below the 1,000 outage threshold. There are still a large collection of small outages throughout six of our eight counties. While most will be on by end of night, a few will be out until tomorrow. Because of the predicted low tonight of around 35 degrees, please practice caution and safety when heating your home. Our call center is open today and accepting calls. Current outage update: 914 Bartow 8 Carroll 3 ... Cobb 19 Douglas 340 Fulton 153 Paulding 391 See more

Crews continue to work in the hard hit areas affected by Tropical Storm Zeta. Many of these are very labor-intensive, time-consuming outages that impact smaller groups of 10 or 20, or sometimes just one or two members. The majority of those outages are in Paulding and Douglas counties. All of our crews are still with us and will continue to be all day. We should have the majority of these members back on by the end of the day today, though there will likely be a small number of members not on until tomorrow. We appreciate your patience as we know these are very trying times for many of you. Our Call Center is open and taking calls. Crews will not stop until everyone is back.

Outage numbers continue to drop. We could not have gotten this much restoration done this quickly without the help of our sister co-ops and contractors. This will be our last post of the evening, but crews are not stopping. They will continue to work for the remaining members. Daylight saving time ends tonight, so don't forget to set your clocks back an hour. Take advantage of that extra hour of sleep. #CooperationAmongCooperatives #CoopStrong Outage Update: 1,565... Crews continue to chip away at outages as they find messes of tangled wires and downed transformers like this one. If you are one of the 1,699 members remaining out of power, know that we have not forgotten about you! Each and every one of our members is very important to us.

Georgia’s electric membership cooperatives (EMCs) have completed power restoration for an additional 26,000 members since 5 a.m. today. At the height of the storm, 20 high voltage transmission lines were down, as well as 80 electrical substations. Transmission lines are the first step in the restoration process, and receive first priority following widespread outages, followed by substations and then main distribution lines. Crews have been working on some very time-consuming outages today, but numbers continue to come down and are now under 3,000! We have outages in six counties, with zero outages in Coweta or Fayette counties. As the sun goes down, crews will continue to work until all members are back online. If you have been out driving in your area, I'm sure you have seen a good bit of damage left by Tropical Storm Zeta. If you still have a downed line or a tree across a line in your area, give us a call at 770-942-6576 so we can add the information to your outage ticket. If you have already called, just hang on. We will get there as soon as we can. Outages continue to drop as we are now at 3,103. Bartow 113 ... Carroll 73 Cobb 109 Douglas 1,267 Fulton 256 Paulding 1,285 See more

As crews work tirelessly, outage numbers are starting to fall. Over 53,500 members now have service restored as crews keep going in order to get the rest of the lights on. Many members ask us, "Where are your trucks?" So, we thought it might be helpful to share. Our crews have been working in seven of our eight county service area. Even with our crews, the contractors and sister co-ops, that's a lot of area, with a lot of downed trees and lines. Many of these areas were im...passable and paths had to be cut and cleared before crews could work. This has kept them from moving as quickly as they would like. Rest assured that every member's restoration is important to us and we will work until every member receives power. There may be a problem down the line or in a substation that is causing your outage, so trucks may be close by, but not at your home. Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they are not there. We now have under 3,444 outages! Bartow 137 Carroll 75 Cobb 155 Douglas 1,386 Fulton 294 Paulding 1,3978

Right-of-way (ROW) crews work year-round to help minimize outages as much possible. Many times, especially in the really bad storms, the vast majority of the trees that fall come from outside the ROWs. These are trees that are out of our control. If you have ROW concerns throughout the year, just give us a call. You can also find a schedule of where we are currently working at: http://ow.ly/T5B850C86T5. We currently have 4,531 members without power. Bartow 113 Carr...oll 77 Cobb 241 Douglas 2,083 Fulton 338 Paulding 1,679 See more

Crews are chugging away replacing poles and lines just like the ones pictured. These jobs have many different steps and require many different hands to help. This is one reason why it can take a minimum of four hours to complete. When there are multiple poles, the amount of time it takes is longer. Our Call Center is open and our MSRs are ready to help. You can reach them at 770-942-6576. We are currently down to 4,974 outages. Here's your breakdown: Bartow 106 Carr...oll 76 Cobb 277 Coweta 8 Douglas 2,210 Fulton 432 Paulding. 1,865 See more

During a massive outage like we have just experienced, many members will call in to report their outage. Each outage is connected to a device of sorts, which helps our system identify the location for our linemen. When a linemen closes the outage ticket, the system identifies that power has been restored for that device. If a member has not previously called in and is not part of that original outage group, OR if they are on another "device, the member could receive a false notification that their power has been restored, when it really has not. If you receive notice that your power has been restored when it has not, give us a call to let us know that you are still without power. You can reach our Call Center at 770-942-6576.

GreyStone Power 17.07.2020

While we would like to offer specifics regarding power restoration, it is not possible to pinpoint an exact time due to the challenging conditions and level of damage linemen are facing at each individual outage. Crews have been faced with huge uprooted trees on top of and entangled in poles, transformers and power lines. Just as one example, we have a group of about 4 or 5 houses in South Fulton where it will be an all day operation to get those members on because it involves two broken poles. Crews continue to make steady progress. Members can call us at 770-942-6576 if they have concerns, as our Call Center is fully operational.

Our friends at Talquin Electric Cooperative got a great shot of all of our help this morning before all of the trucks rolled out to start repairs. As the day continues we expect the outage numbers to fluctuate a bit as repairs are made and switches are turned on. There are still opportunities for the soggy ground to give way and more trees could fall, so please keep this in mind as you watch the number. We are not going to stop until everyone is back on. #CooperationAmongCooperatives
