It’s time for another addition to our spotlight series, highlighting our incredible choral conducting studio! Everyone, meet Brooke Joynes! A native of the Bu...ll City Durham NC, Brooke is a second year MM student in our studio. In 2019, she graduated from Spelman College with a BA in music, where she served as alto section leader as well as student conductor for two years. While singing with the Spelman Glee Club, Brooke travelled to perform for President Barack Obama and she travelled to Vidigueira, Portugal, to sing in the Festival Terras Sem Sombra. Brooke was recently named assistant conductor of the Atlanta based Golden Gate Singers, which she prepared for a performance with the Atlanta Ballet in February of this year. Brooke dreams of intertwining choral music into the lives of more people, and she hopes to help people see the beauty in coming together and uniting our voices. Brooke is a treasured member of our family - show her some love! #GSUChoirs
