Last year, our B.I.S students had the opportunity to work alongside NASCAR driver Chase Elliott at the Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia. Summer 2020 graduate Shanice McLeish is leading the sport industry from the education sector. Shanice spends her time developing sport programs for children, starting from developmental stages. Her interests specifically include helping young athletes understand how to overcome personal grief through sports as an outlet. Shanice has over 6 years of experience in sport operations and has spent many of these years working alongside other sport professionals in youth recreation... including Kennesaw State University Athletics, NASCAR, NBA Draft, ARMS Foundation, Georgia Tech Athletic Hospitality, YMCA, Special Olympics, Kate’s Club and many more. Summer 2020 graduate Ross Lawrence is a sport professional from the United Kingdom, working as the Associate Director of Recreation at Cathedral of Christ the King in Atlanta. He has extensive experience in organizing, marketing and running a range of sports programs in organizations such as Challenger Sports and Southern Soccer Academy. Summer 2020 graduate Sabrina Rodgers coaches with the Barry Women’s Volleyball Team, as well as Tribe Volleyball Club. Her favorite part about coaching is seeing the players grow as athletes and people. Sabrina has started her second Master’s in Sport, Exercise and Performance Psychology at Barry University in Miami, Florida. She is working on becoming a Certified Mental Performance Consultant and hopes that combining her two Master’s will allow her to successfully manage an...d coach a Division I volleyball program in the future. Summer 2020 graduate Poorya Mortazavi is a highly licensed soccer coach with experience world-wide including the United States, England and Mexico. He has completed several courses, including the UEFA ‘B’ license and the USSF ‘C’. He earned his MSc Sports Coaching degree from the prestigious Loughborough University, along with his MS from GSU. Poorya recently started his own company, CoachPsoccer (@coachpsoccer) which offers tailored individual sessions to those looking to t...ake their game to a higher level.
