Another donation of Easter bags for our Veteran Families. Thank you!

Gwinnett Veterans Resource Center 21.04.2021

The Gwinnett County Veterans Resource Center (GCVRC) would like to personally thank all the hard-working individuals who donated and created these fantastic Easter baskets for our Veterans families and their children. These baskets came from Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation, where seniors from the Suwanee Good Timers Club at George Pierce Park created them. All items were donated by the Peachtree Ridge Youth Athletic Association and the community. Pictured here are Samantha Zeidan, from Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation, George Zeidan (Samantha’s husband), Danny Pagan, GCVRC Center Director, and Gwinnett Coalition for Health and Human Services intern Nekiea Handy.

The Gwinnett County Community Development Program is currently assessing the needs of our community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Your input will help direct funds where they are needed most. It is important to know how this pandemic is currently affecting our community and how it may possibly affect your future as well. The deadline to complete this is Wednesday by 10:00 A.M. We encourage you ALL to share your thoughts about the needs you are experiencing and seeing across our community! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/COVIDNeeds-Gwinnett

Today, October 12th, Eagle Scout Alex Justice completed his Eagle Scout Project designed for homeless veterans here in Gwinnett County. He researched, organized, purchased, and packed 12 amazing back packs filled with essential needs for someone without a home or place to lay ones head: rain poncho, sleeping bag, socks, personal care items, towels, and so much more! Packed to the gills with thoughtfulness and kindness. Well done Alex! The Gwinnett County Veterans Resource Center will find good homes for each back pack and Danny Pagan, the Center Director, says thank you Alex for giving to those in need and wishes you the best for your next step in life.

This week the Gwinnett County Government Board of Commissioners issued a proclamation in recognition of World Homeless Day on October 10th, 2020! Within this proclamation, the County also recognized the incredible work of our community's nonprofits, faith-based organizations and volunteers who have risen to meet the increasing demand due to COVID-19 by expanding access and increasing their service offerings! We can't thank the County Leadership enough for their commitment to ending homelessness here in Gwinnett! We also want to thank and recognize the incredible partners we have throughout the community who have met the challenges of housing and homelessness head on!

This homeless Navy Veteran stopped by the center today in need of help for himself and his three year old autistic daughter. Danny Pagan, our center director, wasted no time to helping this veteran and his family with much needed supplies.

As a very special offer this year, we have a limited supply/first come first served t-shirt to celebrate our 21 years of service. Funds from the sale will go to providing needed resources to our families in need during our COVID-19 Response. #greatdays2020 #gdos2020

From Duluth Middle School-Our Duluth Middle School PTA and Unite Duluth have joined together to organize a meal bag drive for our Duluth families who find th...emselves in a difficult situation during school closures.
