One of our partner cities Norcross, Georgia organized a tree planting day in a local urban forest! Girl Scouts, an urban forester, and members of the Norcross Garden Club volunteered their Sunday afternoon planting tree seedlings in the local urban forest. A fun way to learn, steward and have fun! #volunteersrock #plantatree #girlscoutsrock Georgia Association of Conservation Districts

"Crayfish Creek" is no longer a nickname - today we got word that the "little creek with no name" is officially dubbed! What a fun way to celebrate World Water Day with our partners #bethechange #waterconservation #watershed #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #chattahoocheeriver #TributariesMatter Georgia Association of Conservation Districts Trout Unlimited University of Georgia Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources #WorldWaterDay2021

The District is excited to announce the formal appointment of Travys Harper to the Board this morning as a Supervisor! Mr. Harper is an Auburn University grad with a degree in Environmental Design, and works for Trees Atlanta as an educator and manager of the nonprofit's green infrastructure development programs. Look for some (LOTS!) of really great conservation work taking root in Gwinnett thanks to his proven vision and energy!
