Happy Friday!! Working on side breathing!! Fridays are dedicated to maintenance and stroke classes. Continuing swim lessons beyond your child’s initial survival class is so important! The skill retention, building of new skills and confidence gained in just 30 minutes a week is amazing. #gwinnettswim #swimyearround #swimlessons #watersafety #drowningprevention #hopefloats #swimlessonssavelives #freestyle

If it scares you and you do it anyway, you are brave!! A little fish jumping into a big pond requires so much bravery. We are so very proud of all our little fish! #gwinnettswim #drowningprevention #swimlessons #watersafety #bigjump #bebrave #swimlessonssavelives #nofloaties

"Really good things take time to grow. Foundation is not built over night." ~ Iggy Azalea This sweet girl's graduation was scheduled in December but she needed just a bit more time. Not only did she do an amazing job in her test this past week but, she has the great honor of being our first graduate in 2021!! Congratulations and thank you for leading the way for all our future 2021 graduates! #gwinnettswim #gsasigrads #drowningprevention #celebrate #watersafety #swimlessonssavelives #hopefloats #aquaticsurvival

Interested in signing your toddler up for swim lessons? This cutie is 19 months old and this is her 5th lesson. Skills she has learned by week 2: face in the water with her eyes open, reaching for and holding the step with both hands, kicking her feet, and closing her mouth for breath control. She is a rockstar!! #gwinnettswim #swimlessonssavelives #drowningprevention #aquaticsurvival #hopefloats #rockstar #kickkickkick #watersafety

Happy Wednesday!! We are working on water safety with the Crab Walk. An important skill that even the youngest swimmers can master quickly. This helps a swimmer use their hands to walk along the edge of the pool wall and climb out to safety. This swimmer was introduced to the crab walk just 5 minutes before this video was taken, look at him showing off his new skill on the way to the ladder where his instructor is waiting. #gwinnettswim #watersafety #drowningprevention #aquaticsurvivalskills #hopefloats #swimlessons #happywednesday #swimlessonssavelives

This is so inspiring, Special Olympics athlete Chris Nikic crossed the finish line on Saturday to become the first person with Down syndrome to complete an Ironman triathlon. Ironman triathlon begins with a 2.4 mile swim in open water. That is about 169 laps of our pool and that is just the start of the race. Nothing is out of reach! https://www.cnn.com//first-person-with-down-syn/index.html

Experts say a child can drown in 20 seconds. This video is 3 seconds long and shows how skills can save lives. In 3 seconds this young swimmer shows us how he swims to safety with his eyes open, mouth closed, arms scooping and legs kicking. Drowning has no season. #gwinnettswim #swimlessonssavelives #watersafety #drowningprevention #aquaticsurvival #swimlessons
