Welcome Back! We are open and running classes as normal starting today, Monday, January 4th. We look forward to seeing everyone.

Note: If you normally come to the gym past Ezell's catfish, there is a road block just past The Lakes apartments. You will have to continue down Machester Expressway to the Warm Springs Road exit, make a left at the light, then a left at the Shell gas station and the gym will be on your left hand side just past the YMCA. If you have any questions, please call the office 706.563.1866.

This week in classes, our children were given Christmas coloring sheets! You can have them color it, write their name on it and bring it back into the office or to your coach for us to hang up.

Improving Gymnastics/Tumbling at Home Having coached gymnastics for over 38 years I have been asked many questions about how someone’s son or daughter can improve at home. My simple answer has been Improve the machine at home and learning the skills in the gym will become easier. The machine is the athlete’s body. As in any athletic sport, the athlete must improve their fitness level. Anyone’s fitness level is based on muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascula...r endurance and mobility (flexibility). With a higher fitness level the athlete can learn skills much faster and minimize the chances of injury. The Gymnastics Unlimited Competitive Team spends 1/3 of their training improving their fitness level. That is how they achieve such a high skill level. The team spends many more hours in the gym compared to a recreational class. The hour we have in a recreational class must be used to learn skills. It is imperative that every student improves their fitness level at home to reach his or her goals in class. There is no pat fitness-training program for young athletes. We can make suggestions and recommendations for you. Every fitness program must be tailored to the athlete’s age, need and level. There are many resources available from the Internet, books and local trainers. Improving your fitness level is the key for success. Unfortunately due to the power outage and Georgia Powers estimated time of restoration being 7pm or later. We have decided to cancel classes for the evening. Please look for an update on how to reschedule missed classes! We apologize for the inconvenience.

Registration will open online Wednesday, July 22nd at 10am for our current students that are enrolled in our summer 2020 program. ... Registration will then open to new and past returning students on Wednesday July 29th at 10am. All registrations must be done online. The office will be staffed and ready to answer any questions by phone, 706-563-1866 from 10am 8pm Monday- Thursday and 10am-12pm Friday. We will continue low class numbers into fall. Little gym classes will have 4 students and recreational/tumbling classes will have 6 students. All of our Covid-19 safety protocols will remain. This includes hand washing and temperature check before entry, social distancing in the lobby and rigorous cleaning throughout the facility. Please make sure your account information such as address, phone numbers, allergies, medical conditions, etc. is updated and accurate. This allows us to be efficient in contacting and communicating with everyone.
