GREAT NEWS!!!! The work on Cherry street has begun. Goal: to make Cherry Street looks as beautiful and inviting as Main Street. ... To build a system of blinds that can be used to store the trash cans out of view but easily accessible for the trash company. To install brick inserts in strategic locations to boost the aesthetics. To install lamp posts with interchangeable banners. To remove all vegetation and debris making maintenance much easier. To give the buildings a fresh coat of paint on their facades. To finish things off with a fresh layer of seal coat over the asphalt. Then the lines get repainted and the final signage gets installed.... Won't be long now!!!! Thank you City Council for investing in the DDA so we can pursue these projects. Thank you business owners for partnering with us to accomplish great things. Have a great week everyone!!!! Cherry Street Project Manager Chris Moore

Make your plans now to attend the 8th annual Yellow Pollen Street Festival next Saturday, March 19, in downtown City of Hampton. This year we have 110 vendors including many of your favorites returning as well as a mechanical bull. Come out 10 to 5 on Saturday.
Good news and bad news and other bad news. First the good news. We are FULL and not accepting anymore applications, even though we added several additional spaces this year. The bad news is that we have had to turn away more than 20 people so far. The other bad news is that the Labrador Retrievers are not coming. One of the dogs is sick and they have had to cancel. However, we are adding a mechanical bull this year so be prepared to show off your Cowboy talents.
An animal rescue group will be at Yellow Pollen this year so be prepared for your kids to be begging!!
This year we will have Labrador Receivers demonstrating for the treatment and prevention of cancer in dogs. They will be on the grass in front of the green house at West Main and Oak St. You can see more about them in advance at www.3dawgflite.com. or 4 Dawg Flite.
Just spent some fo the afternoon out measuring and hunting for additional spaces for the upcoming Yellow Pollen Street Festival. Filling up last year's spots and still applications coming in. Gonna be bigger this year. Make your plans to come and enjoy the day in beautiful downtown City of Hampton.
You don't have to wait for the Taste of Henry to sample many ethnic foods right in downtown Hampton GA.
Getting to be that time of year again. March 19, 2016 for the 8th version of the Yellow Pollen Street Festival on Main St. in downtown Hampton.
Received the first completed application for next year's Yellow Pollen Festival, over 4 months before the event. And, this was from a vendor who has been with us since the first year. I guess you could say we are doing something right. March 19, 2016 is the date.
We sent out our first three applications for next year's Yellow Pollen Street Festival this week. The application is also available on the City Website, www.Cityof Hampton-ga.gov. A crazy little idea catches on, who knew?
