Greeting Citizens of Hancock County, I (Sheriff Primus) am in need of your help to stop the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). I am pleading with the older and younger generations to wear your mask, sanitize your hands, and use social distance. It has been brought to my attention that this weekend two community are having a birthday and a block party. I am asking the younger generations to think about your family, your love ones and how this virus will affect them if you ...contact it and take it back to them. If you have not read upon this virus please do because you can contact this virus just from someone being too close to you and you are engaged in a conversation. If their droplets make contact with you, and they have COVID-19, then you can contact it. Their droplets can live outside the body for 24 hours on your clothing and on your skin. It only takes 15 minutes and you can transfer it to your love ones and others. Parents, I need you to please talk to you children/ young adults and stop them from social gatherings such as parties. We, the Sheriff Office are here to keep you safe but please do your part. Hancock County is a hot spot for COVID-19 and our numbers are climbing and we are losing love ones from this virus. Please assist me in this endeavor by taking the necessary precautions to prevent this pandemic from spreading by wearing your mask, sanitizing your hands, social distancing and stop partying.
