The one hour Hot Yoga classes are a condensed version of the classic Bikram Hot Yoga series of 26 postures and two breathing exercises. This class has limited instruction, so it is only appropriate for experienced practitioners. Although the 1 hour Hot Yoga class doesn't have the same therapeutic benefit as our signature 90 minute Bikram Hot Yoga class, it will get you in and out the door quickly. It is highly advised that you start with and continue to take our 90 minute Bikram Hot Yoga classes as often as you can. The 1 hour Hot Yoga class should never be considered a substitute for Bikram Hot Yoga, which is medically engineered, perfectly sequenced, and perfectly timed to give you the maximum medical benefit! It is important to show up for your favorite class so we can keep it on the schedule! **6:00 AM PERSONAL EXPRESS class is for experienced practitioners only. We are excited to announce the addition of a new weekly class starting in April! Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm please join our very own Stephanie McClure for a Restorative Yoga practice, beginning Wednesday, April 7th. About the class: ... Restorative yoga is a style of yoga that moves further along the restful continuum of Yin yoga. It includes supported poses that are held for longer periods (6-10 minutes). In this class, participants will begin with centering supported poses and attention to breath and use some slow repetitive movements to arrive in poses held for longer periods. The goal is to provide students the opportunity to drop into the rest and digest functions of the parasympathetic nervous system, where the body activates healing and restoration processes (hence the name). It is our hope that it will serve as a weekly respite for all from the stress and activity of daily life. Class will end with meditation activities that will hopefully leave you feeling calm, steady, and peaceful. This is an excellent and very gentle class for beginners but also serves as a balancing practice for those who regularly engage the more rigorous styles of yoga. Students can expect to experience improved mood, better sleep, and, as with all yoga practices, gradual improvement in flexibility and overall well-being.
