SPREAD the WORD....... HELEN, GA WILL BE celebrating OKTOBERFEST. ONLY the Festhalle has cancelled. All of the outdoor venues WILL BE putting up TENTS and havin...g bands!!! There are MANY of them so COME CELEBRATE OKTOBERFEST during the usual dates.... The 2nd week in September to the END of October! See you there! * Actually, this should be UNIQUE and great fun, just like the old days. An OUTDOOR Helen Oktoberfest will be fantastic. The whole town will be Wide Open! * PS - Naturally, I do not speak for the village of Helen. This is what I am hearing from Venue owners and managers.

The Helen Chamber and Festhalle has decided to cancel our Spring Bierfest event for this year. We were looking forward to this year’s event, but the health and safety of our local community and citizens is our top priority. What makes these events so special is the happiness we feel from being among a community of like-minded, dedicated individuals, which is why we’d like to take a moment to offer our most sincere support to any of our followers, friends and family who have been affected by this virus. We wish everyone the best health and safety during this difficult time. We will get through these times together!

For the safety of our fellow citizens and following CDC recommendations, the Helen Chamber and Festhalle has decided to postpone the start of our weekly Bingo event until May. Our response team will meet again in a few weeks to make a decision for moving forward as we wait to see how the situation unfolds. At this time, we are still leaving the Spring Bierfest event open for discussion. We will keep everyone posted on any changes to scheduling or cancellation of this or any other future events when we meet again in late April. We hope that you and your families stay safe throughout this time! Thank you for being such a supportive community. We will get through these times together!

Anyone planning on coming to the Helen Trout Tournament, please see the announcment below regarding the cancellation of the event. There is some notes in the comments regarding refunds for those registered. The DNR is still stocking the river for those that still want to come fish.
