I do feel all of our voices are important and we should not remain silent, so I wanted to speak up. As we roll into the month of June in this incredibly difficult year filled with tragedy, challenges, and fear, it has never b...een more important to show compassion and love to everyone. One of my favorite quotes uttered this year by Joaquin Phoenix at this year's Oscar's was the final line of his speech. "Run to the rescue with love, and peace will follow." What happened to George Floyd and the long list of others injured or killed by police brutuality is despicable. Any human being seeing the video of George Floyd's death should immediately be heartbroken and find a way to be part of the solution to putting an eternal end to racism... constructively. Reach out to your family, your friends, your coworkers, and maybe even some random people. Share your compassion, ask them how they are doing, and be the one to unite your circle of influence to be advocates of social change and love for all. We are all fighting battles right now, some of us more so than others, but we all need a shoulder to lean on. Everyone can take an active role in speaking out against those inciting anger or racial bias. We are all God's people, created differently but equally, and it is our duty on this planet to work together, evolve, and strive fo equality and prosperity for the next generation. Do your part.

The office is closed today for observance of Good Friday, but I wanted to personally wish current clients, former clients, and observers well during this Easter and Passover weekend. We are living in unprecedented times and COVID-19 continues to wreak havoc on all of our lives. While no one knows for certain when life will return to some resemblance of normal, it will happen eventually and we will all come back with a new perspective and stronger than ever. Martin Luther King... Jr. once said "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience but where he stands in times of challenge and controversy." While we all go through these challenging times, strive to be the best version of yourself, better than you have ever been. Reach out to family, friends, and co-workers, check on them and attempt to provide some entertainment. Reach out to individuals in your network that are healthcare professionals or other essential workers, thank them and offer to assist them in any way possible. Donate as you can to a local food bank or a good cause of your choice as so many people are in need during these difficult times. If you are crafty, perhaps make some masks like my mother-in-law Gayle Fontenot did by sending them to my mother Sandy Herro who's nursing facility is in dire need of them.
