Highland Kids Academy After-School Program

In addition to our fabulous after school program, we have an amazing summer program! This summer, we are going to CELEBRATE!

Some more exciting news from HKA! When Muscogee County goes back to in school learning, we will be picking children up at Waddell Elementary for our after school program!. So if you know of anyone from that area that needs after school care, please let them know! (And if you need us for Virtual learning daycare, give us a call at 706-221-5947)

Highland Kids Academy just got the word! Muscogee county is going back to virtual learning through January 15th! So, starting on January 6th, we will be going to our full day schedule facilitating the children in their virtual learning. If you need us, email us at [email protected] We love to help our families during this crazy time and always! :)... PS we have our winter camp on January 4th and 5th!

Day 3 of Virtual learning at Highland Kids Academy has been a spectacular success! (seriously, it's been great!) We still have a few spots available in our Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade rooms. (Sorry, 4th and up are full.) Give us a call at 706-221-5947. We'll tell you more about it. Day two of Virtual Learning is a success! Really proud of how our kids are coping with this new style of learning, and super proud of how hard the HKA staff is working to make it happen! (Kudos to our Muscogee County teachers too!)

The Highland Kids Academy staff is having two intense days of training so that our facilitators can assist your children with virtual learning on Monday! :) We have 15 more spots available. Call us at 706-221-5947 if you'd like to know more!

Summer program update: HKA will be continuing our summer program through August 12th. We will be closed for training on the 13th and 14th, but will reopen on the 17th to continue full daycare for those that need it during the virtual learning phase of Muscogee County's school year. We want to do what we can to help our families navigate through these unusual times. :) Let us know how we can help you!

HKA Summer camp is rolling!!! We are having so much fun!

Highland Kids Academy is opening an additional room for the summer program! If you know of anyone that is looking for awesome childcare for their school age children, have them give us a call at 706 -221-5947. Our theme this year is Roadtrip USA! ("We're getting our kicks on Route 66"!)

Our first week of HKA's summer program has been completed and man, did we have fun! We took temperatures, washed and sanitized our hands and our classrooms numerous times. We've made guitars (Nashville, Tennessee,) and hula skirts (Hawaii). We have a "create a hand washing poster" contest going on right now (winner to be announced on Friday!) and we'll be making our dream cars soon! ... We'll continue to wash and sanitize our hands and classrooms. Our first water day will be next Wednesday (yeehah!!) AND SO MUCH MORE! As most of you know, Highland Kids Academy has had to cancel our Spring Break camp that was scheduled for this week. We miss "our kids" so much right now, but realize that sheltering in place whenever possible, is the responsible thing to do. Please know that we are praying for our families and look forward to seeing you soon!

To all of our families, We are missing you all so much! Just for fun, I've created a scavenger hunt for the kids to do at home. All they need to do is grab your phone and take pics of the following ten things. When we do finally get back together again, those who play, will get a prize! Take a photo of: 1. yourself doing one of the activities that you have been doing to keep busy. 2. something purple.... 3. your pet (or a stuffed animal or draw a pic of an animal) 4. your lunch. 5. Write three sentences of what you miss most from Highland Kids Academy (take a pic of what you write) 6. Your family 7. something multicolored. (3 or more colors) 8. a hat. 9. some homework that you accomplished. 10. book you are reading (or finished reading.) :) All right, guys, Get those pictures in! I'm looking forward to seeking what you've been doing this past week!

To all the new home schooling parents- those homework pages aren't the most important things your kids should learn during this time; answer their questions about what's happening now, teach them to cook, or paint, memorize a meaningful Bible verse, or tell a story. Watch Frozen 2 together- there are about 10 good lessons in that movie... But most of all, just love them and help them feel safe. You'll do great.
