Even though we are closed to the public on Wednesdays, we still have our full staff onsite working on projects and programming. Today, our dressmaker officially begins making a new dress for another interpreter. Keep following us for updates and to see the final product! #livinghistory #historicwestville #columbusga #seamstress #
#GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past 8 years, this idea has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Please take a moment to visit our donation page or website to consider how you could help support #historicwestville. http://ow.ly/bG9350C78z4

The Honorable Bob Poydasheff served dutifully on the board of Historic Westville for several years. We could always count on Bob for a laugh. You never had to guess what he was thinking, he always let you know. Not known for his silence and always stood up for what was right. He will be missed by all. Thank you for your service to the country, the community and to our organization.
We loved having this awesome car club visit us today! Our self-guided tour of the village provides plenty of social distancing, so its perfect for large groups. For more details, visit www.westville.org or contact our Welcome Center Manager at [email protected].
Yes, we ARE open! You can visit Westville Thursday-Saturday 9am-4pm. We do have new Covid-19 policies that you can find on our website, but we are still offering self-guided tours of the village with our interpreters, in person field trips, and we even have a virtual field trip option! You can find all the necessary information at www.westville.org We hope to see you soon!
Happy National Chocolate Day! Advertisements for solid eating chocolate appear in mid-1800s newspapers, but the chocolates were not well received by the public because of their coarse and gritty texture. Swiss innovators developed the first appealing eating chocolate in the 1870s, and the rest was history.
Moving Historic Westville to Columbus was a tough decision to make, and an even tougher process. We love knowing that the move made it possible to share our mission with so many guests, new and old. We have more buildings to move, and interpretations to add, but we want to thank you all for your support over the years. We would not be able to do it without you. #howitstartedhowitsgoing #historicwestville #livinghistory #columbusga #wedoamazing
As we start ramping up for #givingtuesday on December 1st, we are introducing our very first challenge. Please share and we hope you will participate yourself. It takes more than just museums to help #keephistoryalive.
