Ebenezer Baptist Church 12.11.2020

A Statement From Ebenezer November 9, 2020 Across the country, and in Georgia, voters turned out in record numbers this election year. We voted for affordable healthcare, safe housing, and living wages. We voted for freedom from police-sanctioned gun violence and to an end to mass incarceration. In the words of our beloved Ebenezer Baptist Church member Representative John Lewis, we voted to redeem the soul of America.... As we witness democracy in action, we also pause to acknowledge the ancestors who sacrificed so much for us to have the right to vote. Social justice is embedded in the stones of our church and the bones of our people. Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr ensured that the fight for full civil rights was a part of the life of Ebenezer. Past and present church members, including Rep. Lewis, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, Dr. Gwendolyn Middlebrooks and Mrs. Mary Gurley have committed their lives to the pursuit of justice for the most marginalized among us. They have laid out a blueprint toward justice and as Ebenezer voters of faith, we will continue to carry the mantle forward. Our prayers continue to be with our pastor as he answers the call to serve our church and the world beyond.

What joy it brings us to dedicate a unique service for our children. Our virtual children’s chapel explores biblical truths in exciting ways that capture their attention and allows them to connect with other kids and leaders.
