Arriving to the Thoroughbred Horse Ranch delivering Cabin logs to the Heiress to Dowjones for her Gigantic log cabin Conference center. Ive Been hunting the highest quality cabin logs for this project since late July. Finally got all the remaining logs needed to finish the project from one barn. Mount Vernon, Indiana Barn Every single sleeper log (floor joist) is made if old growth Hickory (VERY HEAVY) that were previously used in a HUGE log corn crib built in the 1850s ...then dismantled in 1918 and used in the construction of the barn we are taking down. There are 74 total cabin logs from this barn. We provide reclaimed wood for hobbyists all the way to the highest of high end projects all over the country. See more

This will be our next project here in about a month. We gotta get this one down before the winter hits in the west Virginia mountains. Its 35x32 cabin made out of 95% Pre-Blight Extinct American Chestnut. Notice the arched logs over the windows. I can only assume that the pioneer in charge of building this cabin was very smart and knew what he was doing. It's a very nice and almost every single log is viable.
