Another Friend of Hoboken Cafe - Tommy LaSorda a Great Leader in Baseball History, an Inspiration to many and our Friend passed away today. He LOVED Frank Sinatra, Whenever we were together he would talk about Hoboken being the Place were the "1st Official Baseball Game" was played. We Spent many memorable moments Whether at a Stadium, on the road, at the casinos or in our homes ( usually cooking) thru the years! Here's a few of them below. Rest In Peace Tommy. As the new year begins we want to remind our guests of the specials we offer each day. Thursday's are STUFFED PEPPER DAY. Taking a moment to remember Phyllis McGuire of the McGuire Sisters who passed away Tuesday. The last of the trio group singers - they had Style, Grace & Elegance. We first met 1985 at the NIGHT OF 100 STARS at Radio City Music Hall. We hit it off and became friends. Few months later we did a show with Henny Youngman in Westbury Music Fair for 3 nights were we just had the best time! When I moved to Las Vegas we would run into each other at Shows as well as Charity events and... private dinners. If the walls could talk! Phyllis was a Character to say the least and a big contributor/ fund raiser to many organizations of all kinds mostly Education and The Arts. She was Las Vegas's FIRST LADY. Sadly I say "so long" to one of the LAST close friends of that Showbiz era I was so involved with. Been a hell of a ride. Thanks for all the beautiful times and Music. You made the world sing.... You'll never see the likes of this this again. See more
