HOME. This week’s new menu is now available! I’m actually on top of it this week . Head to the link in my bio to get instant access to this menu and all of the recipes! It looks like a yummy week! I tried to choose recipes with ingredients that we already have on hand because #endofthemonth and we’re trying to stay on budget . While not entirely Whole30/Paleo, most of these recipes can be adapted to be Whole30/Paleo if that’s your thing. We try hard to stick to eating whole... food meals which tend to mostly be gluten free & dairy free...but sometimes we go off script and just add the cheese lol. We LOVE the creamy Tuscan chicken and if you want to keep it strictly Whole30/Paleo, serve it with roasted potatoes instead of the Banza chickpea pasta. Hope you enjoy! SOUL. Some of my favorite days of my life were the slow days following Duke’s birth. Those unhurried days filled with newborn snuggles and gazing at my new baby in this very spot and position by our big front windows were life-giving in such an unexpected way. I’ve been longing for those unhurried days after a season of busyness and after a year like 2020. I’ve been longing for that simplicity, that slow living. I feel like we’re on the precipice of some BIG, necessary change...s in our culture when it comes to the hustle bustle and the pedestal we’ve held social media on. The landscape of social medial is changing and tbh I couldn’t be happier. I hope this shift not only shifts the masses but shifts YOU and your household just like it’s shifted mine. The last several months in particular I’ve felt so discouraged by social media and just all the brokenness in general going on in our world. I’ve been reminded that we NEED to shift, I need to shift. I need to shift my gaze towards HOME and towards HEAVEN. Can you imagine if we all deleted 1 social media app and spent more time gazing down at our little ones and gazing up at our Father instead of gazing and scrolling at a screen?! I know I’m gazing at a screen as I type this but I’m committed to getting back to the slow, simple days of gazing at the little boy in front of me in this same, favorite spot in our home. I’m committed to spending more time gazing at the face of my Father who loves me and wants my surrendered heart. I’ve seen more and more posts of people leaving social media or taking a step back and it warms my heart. And I’ll be honest, I’m one of them too. I’m still praying through all of this but change has to happen. I need it and maybe you do too. Don’t be afraid to step away...to MOVE away from social media and MOVE towards those in front of you. Don’t be afraid to take a step back and gaze down and up to what TRULY MATTERS the MOST. I’ll still be here but it’s going to look different, just like I think it is for many. This landscape as a whole is shifting, I feel it in my bones. And I think it’s the best thing we need right now as individuals and as a culture.

HOME & BODY. Y’all asked and I am delivering! My weekly menu will now be posted on my feed each Monday with direct links (via link in my bio) for each recipe! I love cooking healthy, whole foods for my family and others. I plan my weekly menu with intention each Sunday. My meal planning SYSTEM is SIMPLE. Here’s how it works I go to my tried and true recipe books or my Pinterest board and choose meals according to what we have leftover in our frig/pantry/freezer. I also... try to choose meals that reuse the same ingredients (I.e. two recipes that use carrots or squash for example). I try to pick recipes that are a blend of crockpot, salad/soups, and one pot dishes. I love to repurpose ingredients, especially produce throughout the week to cut on costs and food waste. Be sure to check back here weekly for my updated menu/recipes. You’ll see a lot of recipes from @thedefineddish, @daniellewalker, @eatingbirdfood, and @40aprons. While we do a lot of Paleo/Whole30 recipes, I don’t exclusively cook that way. SOUL. This might be the MOST impactful area of our mornings and how we begin our days. Our mentality and perspective, our soul health, can literally make or break our day. I’m sure you’ve experienced it too...you wake up later than you wanted or you missed your alarm, the kids are asking you question after question or not listening, the shirt you wanted to wear is in the laundry, no time to eat breakfast, and the rat race out the door to get to school/work on time has commenc...ed. It’s crazy- truly. Your heart rate is elevated, your sweating, your yelling and short tempered. What a way to start the day?!?
