Homeless at Heart, Inc. 27.04.2021

Well, it’s 6 weeks until Valentine’s Day and we’re ready to go with another year of making Valentine packages and handwritten cards for those who are homeless in Atlanta. We normally have a large production event on MLK Day in collaboration with The Packaged Good in Dunwoody but we are having to scale that back this year because of COVID 19. That event is still planned and we will post the information soon. HOWEVER, WE ARE PLANNING A SUPPLEMENTAL EVENT FOR FAMILIES THAT WANT... TO WORK FROM HOME. If you and your family would like to give back on MLK Day and make 50 Valentine bags from your home, we will supply you with the materials for the bags; all you have to do is stuff the bags and make 50 handwritten cards to put in the bags. We only need 20 families as that will produce our goal of 1000 bags. We are getting a Signup Genius site ready but, if you are interested and want to reserve your family slot, call David at 404-441-2630 and reserve your slot. You will need to pickup the supplies from us on Sunday, January 17 (day before MLK) and return that week. We are happy to sign any school-related volunteer forms and really hope you can help us out this year. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Here is a great opportunity to help a person without a home trying to stay employed. Unfortunate situation that her immigration papers were stolen and renewal costs are $550. Hope you can help! https://www.gofundme.com/f/stolen-work-visa-renewal

Serenity House is a great ministry that provides long term transitional housing to men and women who are homeless. We dropped off 55 valentine boxes today and they were happy to receive them and distribute them to their various houses. https://www.serenityhouseatl.org/

Family Promise of Cobb County has a house for families in need (22 family members- 1 man, 7 women and 14 children) on the Transfiguration Catholic Church property in East Cobb. Today, we dropped off 22 brightly decorated boxes made by the students at Morningside Elementary. https://www.familypromisecobbcounty.org/
