Existing home sales rose 7.8% in August from July to an annualized rate of 4.82 million units, topping estimates of a 4.55-million unit rate and marking the fastest pace since May 2010.

The foreclosure inventory represents the number and ratio of homes that have been placed into the process of foreclosure by the mortgage servicer. Mortgage servicers start the foreclosure process when the mortgage reaches a specific level of serious delinquency as dictated by the investor for the mortgage loan The foreclosure inventory is measured only against homes that have an outstanding mortgage. The number of Americans signing contracts to buy existing single-family homes rose 7.3% in November from October to the highest level in more than a year and a half, according to the National Association of Realtors. Well that's good news!

National home prices rose in ALL 50 states for the 3rd Quarter of 2011! The US National average according to the National Association of Realtors (NAR) was a 17% rise with Georgia coming in at 22.3% increase.
