HELP! Please Share. What: Please help historic Hopeful Baptist Church and Cemetery find witnesses to the accident that occurred at 6:55pm on Friday, September 6, 2019 at the intersection of GA92 and New Hope Road in Fayette County resulting in extensive damage most notably to the church’s sacred Christian burial site. Please contact us by email at: [email protected] Why: Allstate Insurance is refusing to pay for damages.... The extensive destruction and damage (professional estimates over $90,000) Allstate's Ms. Samina Habib caused to church and cemetery property is staggering. Allstate’s insured drove over 300 feet from point of first impact destroying and damaging property, most importantly 14 historic, headstones including ornate hand carved marble and granite markers. These headstones mark the sacred final resting places of Fayette pioneer families, veterans, and loved ones. Allstate’s insured was going so fast that after traveling hundreds of feet through a fence, sign post, cement seating, pillar and other non-moveable objects her car launched 400 pound Georgia white marble markers 100 feet and a 1,000 pound granite marker 50 feet through the air Allstate’s driver in broad daylight reported a mystery vehicle, not confirmed or supported by the evidence and information according to the police report, yet, it resulted in no tickets, for speeding, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, crossing the centerline, damaging private property or a host of other potential charges. This is not the first time. The little historic church has three letters from three different insurance companies who have all refused to pay accident damages because no tickets were issued hence not their responsibility they say. In the first two Hopeful paid to have the damages repaired. However the small and mostly elderly congregation is in no position to pay this time. Sorry Allstate you need to fix the damage caused by your insured and stop floating the mystery vehicle story that can not be corroborated. Hopeful welcomes everyone, this Saturday, December 21, 2019 at noon if you want to come see for yourself the damage to this sacred Christian burial site.

Fayette County’s historic Hopeful Cemetery was one of thousands of cemeteries across the country where Wreaths Across America volunteers place wreaths on veterans graves on Saturday, December 15, 2018. Hopeful Cemetery is the final resting place of veterans who served in the American Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War, WWI and WWII. More than a million Americans nationwide including 300,000 young people participated by placing fresh cut evergreen wreaths honoring all veteran...s and active military members. The placing of the wreaths is a day proclaimed by Congress to Remember, Honor and Teach. Civil Air Patrol has been a Wreaths Across America partner since 2007. Civil Air Patrol wreath-laying included taking part in the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Women in Military Service Memorial, the U.S. Capitol and at State Capitols nationwide. The Civil Air Patrol mentors over 25,000 cadets ages 12-20 in leadership, aerospace, fitness and character development. Cadet activities include an active role in emergency service missions, orientation flights in powered and glider aircraft, flight training scholarships and career exploration.
