Georgia 4-H empowers youth to become self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society by offering relevant and abundant opportunities for leadership and personal growth. As the largest youth leadership organization in the state, 4-H reaches more than 190,000 people annually through the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension offices and 4-H facilities. On April 4, 2021, Georgia 4-H is hosting a day of celebration and giving back, $4 for 4-H. During this c...ampaign, individuals are encouraged to support Georgia 4-H through contributions in increments of four. To participate in $4 for 4-H, supporters can visit the Georgia 4-H Foundation website, https://georgia4hfoundation.org/4-for-4-h/ They can designate a portion of their donation to support a county of their choosing. The selected county will receive 50% of the donation, which would directly assist in the local program that they select. Please select Houston County!

Calling all 7th-12th graders! We are excited to be offering a day for you to get together with your friends from Southwest District! I know this is a quick tur...n around but read through for some fun and exciting events! Here's what you need to know: Who: 7th-12th grade What: Southwest Fest When: April 10 | 9:00-4:30 Where: Veteran’s Park at Lake Blackshear (we will provide transportation) Cost: $20, cash or check, must be paid by April 6th to the office We have limited spots available. We are SO EXCITED to be partnering with Kustom Tees of Middle GA to have a 4-H store! We are starting off small but will definitely be growing our store! Just want to give a HUGE shout out to the 16 Houston County kids that participated in the State 4-H virtual Archery competition today. These kids gave It their all today and we could not be prouder! Special thanks to Coach Jeanne, Coach Allen and Coach Beth for all their hard work this season! Also, thank you to Danny Sanders at Antler Xtreme for allowing us to use his building today! Parents thank you for hanging out with us the past 12 weeks as we navigated through this n...ew season. We are already looking forward to next year! **Post your pics in the comments!**

Fundraiser Opportunity It definitely feels like fall outside, but our minds are already on summer camp for 2021! We want you to have every opportunity there is to fundraise your way to camp! This fall we are pre-selling car wash tickets! Order forms are due to the 4-H Office by November 13th. There is still plenty of time to get tickets sold!

Every year we have the unique opportunity to be apart of the clean up crew at the Winter Wonderland Dog Show. This opportunity is available for ANYONE that wants to volunteer while being surrounded by dogs of EVERY BREED! Many of our 4-H'ers have expressed interest in learning new languages and about other cultures! If you are interested in diversity and opening the windows to the world, join us on October 14th for our 1st ever cultural club meeting. This club will meet once a month, dates will be announced at the 1st meeting.

Houston County 4-H is so excited to start a Happy Hoppers Rabbit club! We are going to have so much fun learning about different breed, rabbit nutrition, how to take care of a rabbit and even some tips on showing them! This club will meet at least once a month and is opened to all 4th-12th graders! You do not need to have a rabbit to be in the club. The meeting is November 10th at 4:30pm on the lawn at the 4--H office. 801 Main Street | Perry, GA 31069.

6th-12th Grade 4-H'ers: We invite you to our meeting on Monday, November 9th at the Moe's on Hwy 96. At this meeting your child will get to meet other 4-H'ers, engage in minute to win it games, participate in community service projects and plan events for the year! Please let us know if you can or cannot come! If you are unable to make it, I will get al the information that we cover to you!

We are excited to still be going to Jr./Sr. Project Achievement. This event is for 7th-12th graders and is super fun! 4-H'ers are able to work on their public speaking skills, showcase their performing arts talents and culinary skills. We are excited to be having an archery team this year! Come to the interest meeting to find out more information about our team! The meeting will be this afternoon October 19th at 6:30pm at the Houston County Canning Plant. Spaces on the team are limited. The fees for the team are $90. All other information will be provided to you at the meeting.

Good Morning! Ms. Sam has planned very poorly and with early voting starting today our office is taken over by voters. We will need to reschedule both Rabbit Club and Cultural Club. I will send out more information. I apologize for the late notice. I want us to be as safe as possible and with as many people surrounding our building right now, I just don't think it is ideal. Look for more information soon!
