Houston County lost a great public servant! Sergeant Tim Chapman was an amazing Deputy and a tremendous friend to so many in and around Houston County. He wil...l be greatly missed. Please keep his family and Houston County Sheriff's Office in your prayers! https://www.mcculloughfh.com//Sgt-TImothy-Alan-Tim-Chapman
This week is National Telecommunicators Week. Please join us in thanking the men and women at the Houston County 911 Center! They are always there for us and the first contact most people have when you need Fire, Law, or EMS.
Our thoughts and prayers go out this evening for Bibb County Sheriff's Office and Macon-Bibb County Fire Department as well as the families of both personnel lost. Rest easy MBCFD Investigator Gleaton and BCSO Deputy Knight.
Houston County has 2 great locations for outdoor fun that are managed by the County. Knowles Landing Boat Ramp and Houston Lake Boat Ramp. If you visit either of these locations please check out this new addition to the County website. If you have friends that visit these, please share with them as well. https://www.houstoncountyga.org/residents/recreation.cms

Happy Thanksgiving! We hope everyone has a wonderful, safe, and blessed Thanksgiving.
From everyone at Houston County Fire Dept, THANK YOU! We hope everyone has a blessed and happy day today and let’s all take a moment to remember the real reason many are off work and out of school for the day.
Sad day for the fire service in Georgia. Our prayers are going out tonight for Mr Don Fryer’s family and friends. Mr Don was a tremendous friend to many in this state including Houston County Fire Dept. He loved the fire service and blessed so many by sharing his wealth of knowledge. His legacy will certainly live on in all those that knew him.
Ready made to do list for Sunday. 1. Change all the clocks. (Don’t forget the stove and microwave, they aren’t as smart as your phone and need a little help to change) 2. Check all of your smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors. (Change the batteries and push test button) this includes hardwired ones. ... 3. Go to the store and purchase new batteries or detectors if step 2 failed. The list was a bit of a joke but in all seriousness, smoke detectors save lives. Let’s all make sure they are working properly. If they are over 10 years old, replace them. Make sure they are placed properly and near bedrooms and living areas. Sleep better knowing you will be alerted if a fire happens.
Come see the Lions Club this Saturday to get a food box!
A little delayed but huge THANK YOU to Sunset Slush of Middle Georgia for stopping by and taking care of our Explorer Group during their training night a few weeks ago. It was a wonderful ending to a great training session! If you haven't heard about them or tried them I would highly encourage you to look them up.

Updated parking information for the Grand Opening Ceremony. Hope to see everyone Saturday morning! If you cannot make it, Houston Home Journal will be live streaming the ceremony on their Facebook page.
Last November we posted about one of our Fire Department Families that was in need of prayers. Today I am asking you again to please help us lift this family up. Trevor and his family have been fighting hard and the last week has been harder than most. They are still fighting and could really use some extra prayers! Jamie Westmoreland Hibbitts, Paul Hibbitts Jr.
On this day... 19 years ago 246 people went to sleep in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep in preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol. 8 paramedics went to sleep in preparation for the morning shift. None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment life may never be the same. As you live and enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you go to sleep in preparation for your life tomorrow, kiss the ones you love, snuggle a little tighter, and never take one second of your life for granted. #wewillneverforget #shareaway #neverforgetten
Our Condolences and prayers going out for Commissioner McMichael and his family.
The date has finally arrived. Please join us for the Grand Opening of the new James W. Williams Jr, Fire & Emergency Management Complex. This complex has been a year in the making and will house our new Fire Station 5, Houston Healthcare EMS, and a new Administration Building for Fire Department HQ and EMA. If you cant make it in person please look for the live feed from Houston Home Journal.
This morning crews from Houston County Fire Department, Warner Robins Fire Department, Centerville Fire Department, and City of Perry Fire & Emergency Services had the honor of showing support for Chief Lee Kirkland (Milan Vol. Fire Dept.). Chief Kirkland was recently diagnosed with cancer and received his first treatment this morning at the Middle GA Cancer Center. Apparatus lined the entrance to the Cancer Center and personnel greeted Chief upon his arrival with words of encouragement and support. The Fire Service is truly a family. Please join us in keeping Chief Kirkland, his family, and Milan Fire Dept in your thoughts and prayers.
Congratulations to our friends at Centerville Fire Department. We can’t wait to see the new station!
