THE CALL And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fish...ermen. Then He said to them, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. They immediately left their nets and followed Him. Matthew 4:18-20 NKJV Follow Me The calling is primarily to know and be with Him where He is. You have to see (know) someone to follow them. This is the primary privilege of the call. TO KNOW HIM I will MAKE you Following Him changes everything about us. To be made implies that we are molded, shaped, or built. It’s probably safe to say that everyone is made by what they follow. Fishers of men Jesus is THE Fisher of men. He does not use bait but rather He is the bait. We are drawn to the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. One glimpse of Him and we are caught immediately. As we behold His glory we are transformed into His image. We see and reflect the glory of God. This makes us fishers of men. Left Their Nets It cost to answer the call. Jesus warns us in Luke 14 to count the cost before we begin. MANY ARE CALLED but few are chosen because few are willing to leave their nets. For many are called, but few are chosen. Matthew 22:14 NLT
