Happy news! We will be reopening on May 26! There will be new protocols in place for appointments, so stay tuned for more info. For those patients whose appointments had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be contacting you starting next week to reschedule your appointment. Please be patient as we are working through a long list of cancelled appointments and will be prioritizing based on the longest overdue and those who require closer monitoring. Here are some tips for handling orthodontic issues at home. You should notify us via phone call, text, or email if any issues arise, but luckily many issues can be taken care of at home!

Dear Im Orthodontics family, The ADA updated its recommendations this week, urging dentists to continue to postpone non-urgent treatment until at least April 30th. This continued postponement aligns with recommendations from the CDC to reduce the risk of disease transmission in communities and to ensure that protective equipment like masks and gloves are being directed to hospitals where they are needed most. As a result, our office will remain closed until recommendations ...change and we are permitted to resume routine treatment for our orthodontic patients. Our team is monitoring voicemails, emails, and texts so please reach out if you have any questions. We miss you all and can’t wait to see you again. Until then, please stay safe!

Here is a video to show you how to take pictures from home to submit to us for virtual appointments. You’ll need your phone/camera, someone to take the pictures, good lighting, and 2 spoons. My lovely assistant did a great job, but the spoons can be held with the bowl part of the spoon closer to the opening of the mouth to help show more of the teeth. Please use the spoons carefully! You can email photos to [email protected].

Based on the recommendations of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists, our office will be closed through April 4, 2020. For those scheduled during this time period, you will be placed on a list to be rescheduled. We are available for emergencies - please text or call us. Thank you for your support and understanding! To Our Valued Patients, The health and well-being of our patients, their families, and our team members is a top priority for us at Im Orthodontics. We have been monitoring the developments regarding COVID-19 in Georgia and the U.S. and have been following the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Georgia Department of Public Health closely. With the recent declaration by Governor Kemp that Georgia is in a state of public health eme...rgency, and the CDC recommendation to postpone elective procedures and non-urgent outpatient visits during periods of community transmission, we have decided to postpone the appointments currently scheduled from March 16 through March 22 and will make decisions for the following weeks as the circumstances unfold. If you have an appointment during this time period, we will be contacting you to reschedule appointments as needed. We are always here for emergencies, of course, and you can contact us by phone or text with any questions you have. Please know that this decision was not made lightly as it makes a considerable impact on us all, but we feel we must do our part in preventing further spread of COVID-19 and minimize the burden on the medical community.
