City of Lawrenceville, Impact46, Gwinnett Housing Corporation. Lawrenceville Housing Authority, Lawrenceville Neighborhood Alliance A job fair specifically designed for Gwinnett in Gwinnett!
Thank you to all our volunteers and school staff who helped equip our future Summer of Impact students this week. We will have almost 40 summer interns who will be working in and around Lawrenceville as we continue to recover and rebuild. Not only were students equipped with virtual and in-person interviewing skills, but we also helped expand their network as they met with key leaders and business owners. Pictured are students from Discovery HS with community leaders. Student...s participated in the Workforce Development training and mock interviews to help them prepare for their interviews with industry leaders starting next week. The Summer of Impact is a collaborative initiative between Impact46, the City of Lawrenceville, Central Gwinnett HS, Discovery HS, and local businesses to help students discover their God-given gifts and passions while engaging and participating in the development of their city. #LOVELAWRENCEVILLE See more
As we have responded to the needs of our community based on unemployment and financial impact, it’s incredible to hear the insights of students as we prepare them for the Summer of Impact 2021. They are eager to learn as they have been preparing for interviews. Lawrenceville, get excited about the next generation workforce!

30 Reasons Why We believe in the future of Lawrenceville. The students coming out of Central Gwinnett and Discovery Cluster schools are civic minded residents who care about their communities. When Covid disrupted our 2020 Summer of Impact Intern initiative, we pivoted and hired 3 summer interns to help us care for our neighbors as we provided rental assistance for vulnerable families. Our interns had all just graduated from high school and were looking forward to the new cha...pters in their lives as the prepared for college. Instead of wasting their summers, our interns work tirelessly delivering computers, doing intake for families facing eviction, and supporting the LRC staff team. We are extremely proud of our interns and look forward to seeing how they continue to grow and invest in their city! When we launched the Lawrenceville Response Center we had raised enough money to cover 60 families. By partnering with @Gwinnett Housing Corporation we were able to access additional funding through New Story Charity that would double our impact by providing up to 3 months of emergency rental assistance for families who were affected by Covid-19. We have always made partnership a priority as we valued collaboration over competition. Thru our partnerships we have continued to go deeper, further, and wider with our recovery efforts. Please consider donating so that we can continue serving!
Today we kick-off our "30 Reasons Why" campaign. Over the next 30 days we will share 30 stories, quotes, pictures, testimonies, and videos of how the Lawrenceville Response Center and Impact46 have impacted Lawrenceville over the past 8 months. We have a goal to raise $30k in the 30 days for 30 families. Please consider donating today and stay tuned as we share over the next 30 days the ways our communities have responded. Our first story is about a single mom and her fight to keep going during Covid-19. The LRC provided 4 months of housing assistance while also providing an employment mentor and case management.
We are excited to announce that we were awarded 50k from the Covid-19 fund from the United Way and Greater Atlanta Foundation. This funding will continue to support the operations and homelessness prevention efforts thru the Lawrenceville Response Center. To date we have served 225 HH in counting. With the colder months ahead and unemployment affects still lingering, we know there is still more work to do. We are grateful!
