ACIP is excited to welcome our newest team member, Dr. Melanie Wilcox (she/her/hers) to our growing team! She identifies as a White heterosexual cisgender woman from a lower social class background. She provides individual and couple’s therapy and psychological evaluations (including assessments for earning disorders, ADHD, symptom or personality concerns, or career assessment). Dr. Wilcox has a deep personal and professional commitments to antiracism and social justice. S...he practices from a culturally-responsive and culturally-affirming foundation, and she has extensive experience working with clients from various cultural, racial/ethnic, spiritual and religious backgrounds. As an educator and a researcher, her primary areas of focus are on understanding and ameliorating racism; culturally responsive psychotherapy and psychotherapy training; and racial and economic inequities in higher education. She is also actively involved in political advocacy and action for community change. ACIP is thrilled to welcome our newest team member, Kaila S. Tang, LMSW. Kaila (she/her/hers) identifies as a second-generation American-born Chinese woman. A San Francisco native, Kaila now calls Atlanta home. Kaila acknowledges that therapy (and life) is not a quick fix but an ever-changing journey of self-discovery and improvement. By utilizing psychodynamic/psychoanalytic techniques that highlight the importance of connection to oneself and the world, she helps individu...als unveil and understand the sources of their suffering. One of the most valued elements of her work is the relational depth she cultivates with her clients.
