ILS is hosting an Invitation to be Heard call via Zoom on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at 1 p.m. EST. There is no set agenda for this meeting but there is a clear goal: Primarily, we wish to hear from you and learn from you regarding graduate students’ perspectives on inequalities facing minority communities and how the Integrated Life Sciences program and the Graduate School at UGA can help and do better. The faculty and administration are calling this meeting not to talk, but to listen, and all life science graduate students are invited to attend. If you did not receive a link to the Zoom room via email, please email [email protected] and it will be sent to you for your participation.

Genetics department head and former ILS director Dr. Nancy Manley was featured in UGA's Great Commitments campaign for her work on the thymus, which produces th...e body’s T cells. As "one of only a handful of labs in the world focusing on the thymus," Dr. Manley and her team work with a goal of determining "how T cells develop and what happens to make their numbers decline."
