Intent Yoga

We are on the edge of a new year. As I am approaching 2021, I am embracing the changes that 2020 has delivered. I do not know if this past year can be truly summed up in any sort of way, so I will not attempt to do that. I can say it has shifted Intent and myself in a massive way. Covid has severely affected Intent’s day-to-day operation and the business as a whole. Due to this impact, we have decided to close Intent Yoga Studio, as of March 1, 2021. It is not without heav...iness that this decision was made, but with it, I feel hopeful for what the new year will bring. I also feel a ton of hope because of the power of human resilience that has been revealed (over and over again) this year. When I first started Intent in the fall of 2016 I was experiencing a time of resilience in my own life. What a beautiful full circle moment it has been over the past 4 years. I believed then and still believe today that yoga is one of the most sacred and powerful practices for harnessing our own individual power and resilience. When I started the studio, I wanted a place to do yoga with my friends (& then some). I wanted a studio that felt like home for all of us. What it grew into was never in my wildest imagination. From day one, I have been honored to share this practice with each of you. It is such a massive part of my life and most of my heart. My highest aim (as my teachers would say) is that if you’ve walked through the door of the studio you felt seen and you felt loved. I have certainly felt overwhelming love from each of you. I am so grateful for every class, every moment before and after. I hope what we have practiced together continues to serve you for a very long time and in a deep way. My practice is stronger because of the moments spent with each of you. I have learned far more than I have taught and that is the ultimate gift. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. When I think about the times I’ve felt most empowered in my practice, I think about the tools my teachers have shared with me that have given me the ability to cultivate my practice in my own way. Which is why I’ve been working on a sequence book. A resource and way to cultivate your practice from anywhere. I can’t wait to share this with you all. Coming 2021.
