***Educational Post Share*** This is why I always make post about battery care. This phone was brought to me yesterday for a basic screen repair. When I opened the phone I realized the battery was bloated and had bubbles up top. Usually, in situations like this I notify my client so that they are aware of the potential risk. However, my client had left so I did the next best thing and filmed before taking the phone apart and took pictures of what the battery looked like. O...nce all that was done I went ahead with the repair. The repair went smooth and tested fine. The phone was losing battery life so I charged it so that my client is able to test her phone before she walks out my location. Well, in less than 10 minutes I hear a weird sound and behold I go check on the phone and guess what??? Yup, you guessed correctly the phone was on FIRE !!! I grabbed the phone while it was on fire (first instinct) and opened it so that the fire can release itself. Luckily, this happened under my care I knew how to deal with the situation can you imagine my client was using her phone while her battery was exploding!!! This could have ended so badly. Yet, this is so easy to prevent! DO NOT use off brand charger , DO NOT use off brand batteries and most of ALL please listen when a technician tells you, you may want to replace your battery. There’s signs to all of this. Which are; your battery losing charge quickly, your phone taking forever to charge, your phone warming up or the WORST that I have seen your screen lifting from one side in which you can see the light coming from inside the phone. DO NOT DELAY BATTERY REPLACEMENTS!!! This could be you. Thankfully, I only have a slight burn on my finger and for that I am thankful.
