One of the more important positions in football is a versatile safety. You need someone who is not only a leader on the field, but someone who can drop into coverage and also make tackles at the line of scrimmage. High school football is losing some phenomenal safeties (James Williams, Sage Ryan and Terrion Arnold most notably), but the next group of star safeties returns. This group is headlined by 2022 5-stars Kamari Wilson and Jacoby Mathews, each of whom are both rated among the top 35 players nationally. Wilson however sets himself apart as the No. 1 safety as he shined on defense for national powerhouse IMG Academy while also being named to the MaxPreps Junior All-American Second-Team. Each of these players are seniors, except for two juniors on the list, Rahmir Stewart and Caleb Downs.
With the 2021 high school baseball season nearing the halfway point of the season in some states, the 2021 MLB draft starts to loom closer. Numerous high school stars are selected early on each year in the first round of the MLB draft with these five players being the first five to potentially be selected. These are the top five high school MLB draft prospects according to MaxPreps. This group is headlined by shortstop Jordan Lawlar, who is emerging as the consensus top high school prospect in this year’s draft class. Expect each of these players to be selected early on in the first round of the 2021 MLB draft.
While some phenomenal quarterbacks from a year ago such as Caleb Williams, Sam Huard and more will move on to play college football next season, there are numerous highly-touted starting QBs that will be returning next season. The top 10 returning QBs in the country next season include eight seniors and two juniors. Headlining this group is Southlake Carroll’s Quinn Ewers, who is regarded as the top quarterback prospect since Trevor Lawrence in 2018. The top returning junior is Isidore Newman’s Arch Manning who is emerging as one of the fastest rising QB prospects in the country. The eight seniors on this list are all currently committed to colleges, while the two juniors (Manning and Nelson) are uncommitted.
With the 2021 high school baseball season now in full swing, there are a few teams that have emerged as some of the best in the country. These are the top five teams in the country currently, according to MaxPreps. Calvary Christian takes over as the top team in the country after a 7-0 start to the season which includes wins over teams all over the southeast. No. 2 Buford and No. 3 Barbe are also among the lone undefeated teams in the top five, while No. 5 IMG Academy is 9-1. No. 4 Hamilton has yet to play a game this season, with its season opener within the next week.
What if I told you that the best basketball prospect of the past decade was still playing in high school? What if I told you that he has been dominating the high school game since he was a freshman? What if I told you he has won numerous national awards even before his junior season? That’s Emoni Bates, the best player in high school basketball. https://itgnext.com/emoni-bates-best-player-basketball/

Due to COVID-19, this year's showcase was played much differently. The event only involved four high schools, each one local except Ypsi Prep Academy (Michigan). It was cut down to one evening with two matchups and was open to a limited number of fans. The games featured players such as Emoni Bates, Zhuric Phelps, and Jaylon Tyson. https://itgnext.com/thanksgiving-hoopfest-emoni-bates/

Duncanville produces some of the most talented athletes and one of the best athletic programs in the nation. They are often recognized for their high-ranking football team, but we can't ignore the exceptional Pantherettes basketball team. Duncanville currently has the best girls basketball team in the state of Texas and in the nation. The Pantherettes are currently 10-0 and will play again today. Although it is early in the season, it will be no surprise to watch these ladies dominate on the court.

These 10 players were some of the most highly sought after prospects and some of the best players in the history of high school football. They not only had storied high school careers, but have gone on to have some of the biggest and most iconic moments on the biggest stages of college football and in the NFL, such as Clowney’s hit versus Michigan and Vince Young’s run to beat USC in the Rose Bowl. Aside from Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields, each of these players are either still playing in the NFL or have retired from the game of football.
