I just sent out our Christmas cards! That's a huge task off my to do list and I feel like I'm getting these done way earlier than usual so that's a big win! Not gonna lie, I've been working 8:00am to midnight most days this week and exhaustion is setting in BUT we only have like 7 days home this entire month so I'm working really hard to get all my clients taken care of so I can enjoy my days away for the holidays. We love shooting at The Alida Hotel SO MUCH! But can you believe Mariah and Christian's was our first real wedding there? Finally! And The Alida Hotel is just so gorgeous and perfect for intimate weddings and elopements. Their rooms and lobby and bar spaces are just gorgeous and filled with light and their rooftop offers the perfect spot for your ceremony. Don't you agree!? Well I just can’t believe it but my sweet baby boy Oslo turned one year old today! This scrumptious little baby is completely wild, so full of smiles and just lights us up every single day. Xavier is obsessed with him and watching their relationship grow and watching them play so well together just fills the momma heart I never knew I had to the brim.... Sometimes I feel sad that his first year of life was so grim. But then I realize his first year of life was the most perfect really, a year spent at home with his most loved humans and animals near. I have been home with him almost all of his first 365 first days and that is a GIFT many moms don’t get. 1000% obsessed with these two. Megan and Cedric are eloping next Spring in Savannah but I love that they still wanted to do an engagement session together in Asheville, where they live. We took a chance the day after a hurricane came through and lucked out with THE MOST BEAUTIFUL DAY on Black Balsam Knob. Can't wait to play with you two cuties again!!

Janet and William postponed their big party until next Spring but honored their original wedding date with an intimate backyard elopement of about ten of their closest family & friends. And I have to say, Im really not mad about the elopement and micro wedding trend that we've been forced into. I know its not the huge party that most couples dream of or planned BUT IT IS LITERALLY THE BEST way to start a marriage. Intimate, genuine, slow and easy. I am not even kidding when... I say that this is hands down one of the best days I have been a part of. You cannot find kinder OR CUTER people. Two favorite moments from the day was one - right before Janet & William's first kiss, they put their foreheads together for a few moments and took each other in. I'm not sure what that moment was for them exactly but it certainly tugged on my little heart strings and came across as just an extra way to be present together on their wedding day. My other favorite thing was watching William have a really sweet, tender moment with each of his family members after I took his portrait with them. He took time to tell each of them how special they are to him. These are the BIG MOMENTS that are only possible during SMALL weddings and I am here for it! Janet & William, I know your sneak peek was a long time coming, thank you so much for being patient with me as I navigate a full time work load with two kiddos. Blair and Andrew were originally supposed to get married in Paris. But after planning 3 different versions of a wedding stateside due to Covid, they ultimately eloped in Piedmont Park in Atlanta. And I know it wasn't their fairytale wedding in Paris but I do think it was the most perfect and magical day! I love these photos SO MUCH. Happy 10 months Oslo You guuuuuuuuuys, I can’t believe how quickly my baby is nearing a year, its nuts. He is at such a fun stage but little things make me mourn him being not being so itty bitty anymore. I think its the finality of him being our last baby. Every time he outgrows a set of clothes and I pass them on to a friend instead of putting them back in the basement, I cry a little bit on the inside. We just hit 10 months of breastfeeding and I’m starting to wean (its ...a gift to myself for my birthday but that could a whole other conversation) but part of me wants to keep our morning nursing session foreverrrrrrrrrrrr. Happy wedding day Janet and William! I have to chuckle at my naïve self back in March when wedding cancellations started to happen due to Covid. I remember being on the phone with William and Janet dreaming about their incredible fall wedding. They wondered if their wedding would be safe. I remember thinking back then, surely come summer all of this will be behind us, right?! Surely. But, no. That’s the funny thing about life. You can plan and plan and plan and feel like you ...have some sort of control but you really don’t and all you can do is lean into the circumstance and each other and make the best of it. Your wedding at Palmetto Bluff was absolute perfection Now, I realize the first photo shared from their day could’ve been a gorgeous portrait or an epic photo showing the beauty of the property BUTT this photo is by far my favorite from the day I always follow my couples once they walk down the aisle, freshly married, because almost always I get some pure magic.
