Can’t explain it but all of these pumpkins grew on this one gigantic volunteer pumpkin plant that popped up in the middle of the yard!

It is with a very sad and heavy heart that I share my friend and fellow farmer, Margaret Sloan, died in the early morning hours Saturday, June 15, 2019. Some of you long time Augusta Locally Grown customers may remember buying flower and vegetable seedlings from Margaret’s WILD PEAR farm. Margaret wasn’t just a farmer. She held several degrees, practiced several years as a CPA, taught in her local public school system, but loved growing flowers and having chickens, ma...ybe most of all. Sandy Legette wrote this loving tribute to Margaret for the customers of the Washington, GA farmers’ market and gave me permission to share it. I hope you will take the time to read it, and remember Margaret’s family in prayer. I am missing her so much already

The floating shelf that John made me from oak trees that fell during the 2014 ice storm. We needed something to protect the security system power pack and the hall is too narrow for a table so...voila! The perfect solution! And that is true turquoise (powder) he placed in some of the natural splits

Mrs. Cozart's kindergarten class at Goshen Elementary earned every sip of these healthy fruit smoothies made by Laurie of J and L Farm and Stables! They raised ...more than 2,300 meals for hungry families through their Pennies for Produce drive. We are so impressed by their dedication to #feedinglivestogether. J and L is participating in not one but TWO Earth Day events this year! The first will be Augusta University’s event on April 22, 2019 on campus. Check the university’s website for more information. The second will be Phinizy Swamp’s Annual Earth Day celebration April 27, 2019. Check out their information sites for complete info. We will have some of these bluebird houses with us at both events (IF YOU WANT TO CHANCE WAITING THAT LONG!)... John made the houses from wood reclaimed from our stable etc. and Donna did the artwork!

We are so excited to offer a brand new product from our farm! Our own beeswax is the foundation of this wood conditioner that is FOOD SAFE! We added organic jojoba oil, organic coconut oil, and organic lemon essential oil. Using it once a month on salad bowls, cheese boards, cutting boards, wooden spoons, etc. strengthens the wood as it conditions it. MAKES A GREAT STOCKING STUFFER!
