The Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce some recent promotions, starting with Sergeant Bobby Land. Sgt. Land began his career in 1992 at Forsyth P.D. befor...e working here as a Patrol Officer from 1984 to 1986. Since then Sgt. Land has worked for the Monroe and Putnam County Sheriff’s Offices and even the Pike County, Sheriff’s Office as a Chaplain. He returned here in 2017 and we’re glad to have him back. Lieutenant Wesley Ransom began his career in 2009 at Georgia College and State University, followed by the Green County Sheriff’s Office. He came to work here in 2014 and has made quite an impression, first being promoted to Sergeant last September and now Lieutenant. Captain Travis Douglas has spent his entire Law Enforcement career here at the Jones County Sheriff’s Office beginning in June of 1999. Capt. Douglas started out here splitting his time as both a Dispatcher and a Jail Officer before becoming a Patrol Officer where he worked his way up to a Lieutenant in the Patrol Division to now running the Patrol Division. Congratulations to these officers, for a job well doneSheriff Reece
