JEFF DAVIS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ASSIST IN FEDERAL OPERATION OF A DOCTOR IN COFFEE COUNTY. On Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at approximately 9:00 a.m. Federal, State and local agencies executed federal search warrants at two medical practices owned and operated by Dr. Steve Wallace Anderson PC. Assets and evidence were seized during an all day operation. Dr. Steve Anderson was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a scheduled III controlled substance in Violation... of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act. Dr. Anderson appeared in front of the state magistrate judge this morning at the coffee county law enforcement center and was released on bail. Agencies involved: Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Southeastern Regional Drug Enforcement Office (SRDEO), Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office, the Douglas Police Department & the Georgia Composite Medical Board’s Office of Investigations & Enforcement. As the Sheriff of Jeff Davis County I'm very thankful to be partnered with the above listed agencies in working to combat illegal drugs as well as illegal distribution of controlled substances. Please know the illegal activity of this case did impose a negative impact on Jeff Davis County and its people as well as many others. As we continue to work very hard to make Jeff Davis County a safer place to live, work and raise our families I would like to thank the citizens who support our efforts in this mission.
