The Friends of Jeff Davis Park and the Site are pleased to announce a Living History Weekend on November 7th, from 10am to 4pm, and November 8th, from 11am to 3pm. Visitors can walk around the grounds and go through the camps and ask questions or just listen to re-enactors talk about various topics from the time period. There will be black powder demonstrations along with various drills from the soldiers throughout the day. (THERE WILL BE NO BATTLE THIS YEAR) The cost is regular admission, which also includes entrance into the Site's Museum. Mask are not required but are recommended. Thanks to the Friends of Jefferson Davis Historic Site and Irwin County Commissioners, the site now has a state of the art surveillance system which covers the entire park. The Friends of Jeff Davis and the County Commissioners each agreed to pay half of the total to help out the Site and help protect the Site. If anyone is interesting in joining the Friends of Jeff Davis information can be found on their facebook page or can contact the Site. Thanks for all y'all do.

The Site would like to send a big THANK YOU to SCV Camp 682 (Jeff Davis Cowboys) and the GA Division of the SCV for the purchase of the Site's Group Shelter Ice Machine. This donation will be used by the Site for events and to all who rents the shelter. The purchase of the Ice Machine was a much needed addition to the Shelter and to the Site. Thanks for all the support y'all do for this Site.
