A board-certified vascular surgeon with extensive experience in complex aortic reconstruction/open aortic surgery, Dr. Matthews is a Connolly Castle Top Doc. He is among a few vascular surgeons in the state with the expertise to perform the FEVAR procedure, which offers hope for patients with an aortic aneurysm near the kidney and mesenteric arteries. Dr. Victoria's clinical expertise is informed by eight years of research experience, as well as a strong commitment to quality care. He is registered in vascular interpretation and has a holistic view of patient care which involves establishing life-long relationships while leveraging the most up-to-date techniques to improve his patients’ quality of life. The Future of Outpatient Total Joint Surgery was the topic presented by three of our team members during the recent National Association of Orthopedic Nurses 39th Annual Congress. Rebekah Filson, MS, RN, ANP-BC, ACNS-BC, Deanna Whitaker, PT, and Jessica Partadiharja, MSN, RN-BC, spoke about our total joint program. Dr. Mark Hamilton (Anesthesiologist) was also in attendance. Presentation description: Same-day discharge TJA programs are increasingly being adopted by hosp...itals across the United States. The presenters in this session will share their program, the premiere center in Georgia and an industry leader. The program was founded in 2014 by a visionary team of physicians, nurses and nurse practitioners, anesthesiologists, rehabilitation specialists, physician assistants, operating room managers, and additional clinical and non-clinical staff using the IHI Triple Aim framework. Using creative, solution-oriented strategies, the team collaboratively optimized workflow, staffing, and patients’ perioperative experience. Key focus points of the program will be highlighted, including outcomes, workflow iteration, optimization, best practice clinical pathway and thorough review of all patient opportunities.
