Meet season is officially here, and we know many struggle when it comes to competition ready hair. Here's a step by step tutorial on one of the simplest and most common meet hairstyles- a gymnastics bun. If you've got another meet hairstyle you'd like a tutorial on, leave a comment and let us know! Once you get the hang of the bun, you can use gel along with water in step 2- but just like hairspray, when in doubt, leave it out! **Avoid using any bun accessories as these weigh the hair down and make the bun less secure

We are excited to be holding open tryouts Friday August 7th 1:30- 3:30 pm. Our invite programs are for 3-16 yrs old, open try outs will be for 6+ year old's. If your daughter is currently in an invite program / team at another gym, please contact Courtney to determine if the open tryout is best, or if they should come to a current practice. These are the invite programs children can be eligible:... Hot Shots I (3-5 yrs - 2.5 hrs a week) Hot Shots II (4-6 yrs - 4 hrs a week) Shooting Stars I (5-7 - yrs 4 hrs a week) Shooting Stars II (7-9 yrs - 4/6 hrs a week) Rec Stars (5+ yrs - 3.5 hrs a week) Gym Stars (8+ yrs - 4/6 hrs a week) USA competitive (5+ - 6-16 hrs a week) We will be having a brief parent meeting outside while the girls stretch and warm up. We will go over the different programs we offer and answer any questions. Please bring a mask if you plan to stay for the meeting. If you have a 3-5 yr old who you would like to be evaluated, please give me a call so we can discus a good time for them to come in. We have found in the past that the younger kids can become overwhelmed by the group tryouts and do better just joining an age appropriate group. Steps for attending the Try Outs: Register online: https://app.iclasspro.com/portal/jumpstartgym (please email [email protected] if you are having registration issues) bring a water bottle with child's name (we have a place to refill them) Come in a leotard (shorts are optional) Bring grips or and braces needed Kids will enter the lobby (parents will stay outside and can watch through the windows) Kids will wash their hands and then have their temperature taken Coaches will meet after the tryouts to discus placements. Your daughter will likely be invited to try a few current practices with current groups before confirming her placement for the school year. We will send out emails by Sunday the 9th if we need to see your daughter at additional practices. Did you know we are open for classes? We are doing our best to keep our gymnasts and families safe, offering small class sizes and the opportunity to create your own class with siblings or friends from your covid bubble. We take temperatures before every class and wash hands frequently. If a gymnast or a family member have been feeling unwell, had a cough, fever, runny nose, or been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID, please do not attend class. We'll gladly schedule a make-up class once it's safe for you to return.

To help keep everyone active (and entertained!) while we are sheltering at home, we will be posting weekly home challenges. Coronavirous Updates Hello Parents and Guardians, We understand that parents have questions and concerns regarding the recent outbreak. We have been alerted by Public health officials as well as Fulton County about the impact of the Coronavirus within the schools and the community. Due to the high concern, most Schools will be closed until at least 3/27/2020. We will continue to send out updates as we receive more information.... With that being said, all classes and camps will resume at their regular scheduled days and times. Jump Start Gym has been taking extra precautions to ensure the safety and well being of our staff, students, and parents, and we fully respect each family to make their own decisions. Here’s what we are doing: Prior to the start of each class, all students must wash their hands before entering the gym. The students are always reminded to cough/ sneeze inside of their shirts/leotards to reduce the spread of germs and bacteria. Water fountains are being closed down, we will have cups for the water cooler. We encourage kids to bring in their own water bottles (labeled with their names) into the gym. In between classes all mats, toys, and equipment are properly and thoroughly sanitized. In addition to that, we have professional cleaners that clean the gym every Tuesday and Friday. Here’s what you can do: The best way you can prevent the illness is too avoid being exposed to the virus. -Avoid close contact with people who are sick -Avoid touching eyes nose and mouth -Clean and disinfect areas that are frequently touched or used. WASH YOUR HANDS (for 20 sec min) *Please note that if your child is having flu or fever like symptoms that we encourage you to stay home. We have UNLIMITED make ups ! We are trying to stay as up to date as possible with what is going on. When your state meet is cancelled, make up beam duets! If you've never seen a gymnast climb on someone shoulders to mount the beam, or a beam routine with not one but TWO dismounts (per gymnast! ) Then you're going to want to watch these routines! It's great to see these kids making lemonade out of lemons and finding a way to have fun after hearing some pretty disappointing news. They have worked hard all year for a chance to compete at states and qualify to regionals, but they had great attitudes with the sudden cancellation of their state meet. Fingers crossed the world is back to normal in time for regionals!!
