Member Monday Time! Introducing Allie Ruggieri who is the JLS Logistics and Event Support Chair and has been a member for 6 years. 1. Where are you from? How long have you been in the Savannah area? I am from Hope Mills, North Carolina and we have been living in Richmond Hill since September of 2019, so just under a year.... 2 .What is your favorite JLS experience? My favorite JLS experience was being a part of the first ever JLS Touch-a-Truck event. 3. If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? If I had to eat one meal every day for the rest of my life it would be fried eggs with buttered toast. 4. What was the last show you binge watched? The last show I binge watched was Yellowstone. 5. If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go and why? I would go to Italy, for the food and lifestyle. I regret not going there when I backpacked through Europe. 6. Where has been your favorite place to travel and why? Vancouver, Canada because there was no pollution even though it was a city that reminded me of New York. During our week visit there on one side of the island we saw people on the beach in bathing suits and on the other side of the island we were able to take a gondolier to the top of a snow ski mountain. Best of all the worlds. 7. What is your favorite book and why? The One Thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan. I read it almost every year because it grounds me and helps me remember that in a world full of so many options and information telling us that more is better. The truth is that when we take the time to simply focus on just one thing at a time it actually makes us more productive, efficient, and successful in all the areas of our lives rather than feeling inadequate at everything. #membermonday #WeareJLSav #SAV #Savannah #SavannahGA #JuniorLeaue #volunteers #women #womenleadingwomen #membership #network #success #community

Happy Foodie Friday! Kick off the weekend with a large glass of Chatham Artillery Punch from our "Savannah Style" Cookbook. This Savannah classic was created by a local militia in the early 1800s. Booze heavy this lemon and sugar delight is perfect for your next punch bowl. This is a fantastic recipe, but sometimes you may be looking to make a punch for fewer than 200 guests! To make a smaller batch of our city’s famous drink, combine one cup of fresh brewed green tea with on...e cup of each liquor in a pitcher. Add the juice of one lemon and a half cup of brown sugar. Stir and let sir for at least two days. Pour into a glass with plenty of ice and top with chilled champagne. Add cherries and pineapple cubes if desired. Cheers!
