Kayla's Kits

If we had super speed, can you imagine how many Kayla's Kits we could pack in a whole day?!

Need of the Week: Toothbrushes! Every one of our Kayla's Kits contains a toothbrush, so that children can keep their teeth squeaky clean! Last year, we depleted our supply of toothbrushes when we packed 500 Kayla's Kits. This year we will need 550 toothbrushes! If you would like to donate toothbrushes for Kayla's Kits, you can bring them to Midway UMC or you can message us to arrange a socially distanced pick-up.

Our stuffed animals are staying all bundled up this winter with our homemade hats and baby blankets!

Need of the week: Prayers for Foster Children Every August, we deliver Kayla's Kits to DFCS offices throughout Northeast GA. These Kayla's Kits will be distributed to children when they enter the foster care system. The children who receive a Kayla's Kit were forced to leave their entire family and life behind to live with strangers. Pray that these Kayla's Kits will help show foster children comfort during such a difficult time.... Pray that the foster children will have minimal home transitions and life disruptions during their stay in foster care. Pray that incoming foster children will be placed in a home that fits their needs. Pray that foster children are greeted with love and respect from the people they meet: their new families, teachers, neighbors and students. See more

We rang in the new year by cleaning up our storage room. We are excited to make a difference in 2021!

Need of the Week: Coloring Books! Almost all of our Kayla's Kits include a coloring book. What child (and adult) doesn't love coloring?! Next year we will pack over 300 coloring books into our Kayla's Kits. If you would like to donate Coloring Books for Kayla's Kits, you can bring them to Midway UMC or you can message us to arrange a pick-up.

Need of the Week: Books! All of our Kayla's Kits contain 1-2 books. This year we used over 650 books, and our book supply is running very low. We especially need picture books for children ages 0-8. If you would like to donate Books for Kayla's Kits, you can bring them to Midway UMC or you can message us to arrange a pick-up. We accept both new and very gently-used books!

Need of the Week: Baby Blankets! All of our Kayla's Kits for baby's contain a warm, fluffy blanket. Many of them are handmade by our volunteers! This year we used 120 baby blankets, and we are starting to stockpile them for our packing party in 2021. Need of the week: Prayers for Foster Children This is 540 canvas bags. These 540 canvas bags were transformed into Kayla's Kits when they were filled with personal supplies and comforting items. In an ideal world, we would not need these 540 Kayla's Kits. Over the next year, these 540 Kayla's Kits will be distributed to foster children when they enter the foster care system.
