Happy to have our friend Molly Kimler use our enviroscape and trash vests to educate kids on the importance of conservation, recycling and being good stewards of the earth at the Garden Club summer camp. Thanks Molly!
Come out to help with the census and learn more about pollinators and how important they are to our planet!
After recently completing our annual litter index for Walton County, it is clear that our county has seen an uptick in litter. This has also been the case for most other counties across the state. We plan to make litter an even bigger discussion at our school programs and community events. We will also target some of our worst areas for cleanup events. Please help us spread the word on how senseless it is to litter and what an eye sore it is to those living in and travelling through Walton County!
A BIG thank you to everyone that participated in our Document Destruction and Tire Amnesty events. We collected over a ton of paper and almost 1300 tires. Thanks again!
Enjoyed spending part of Earth Day with the students at the Monroe Country Day School. There is nothing better than working with kids to help them become more environmentally friendly. Thanks for having me!
Please join us here at the Recycling Center for our upcoming document destruction and tire amnesty events! For more details call us at 770-267-1421.
We should all take at least a minute of our day to consider just how important taking care of our planet really is. Don't let today be just another day! Happy Earth Day!
What a great real life look at what we discuss daily with citizens and students about what becomes of our litter and why we are all personally responsible for the trash we make! We have a crisis and it is up to all of us to change course before it is completely out of our control!
Happy to have the 3rd grade students from Monroe Elementary out for a visit last week. We are working hard to create a new generation of recyclers and conservationists!

Just wanted to remind everyone that we do still accept glass recycling here at the Recycling Center and at all of the convenience sites throughout the county. Many private haulers have stopped accepting glass and we wanted to make sure everyone was aware that there were other options. Let's continue to keep as much glass out of the landfill as possible!
Proud of all of the hard work our guys put into adding a little life to our recycling drive-thru. They did a wonderful job!

Happy Earth Day! We should all take at least a moment today to ask ourselves what we are doing that is good for the Earth and could we be doing more. Just a little extra effort from everyone could really go a long way. Our planet has taken good care of us all. We should return the favor!

A clear example that we have much, much more to do in teaching the harmfulness of littering.
An appropriate video with our Rivers Alive cleanup just around the corner.
KWB recently partnered with the Walton County Soil And Water Conservation District to clean and repair the environmental study area at Matthew's Park. We even found time to study the aquatic life that can be found in the pond there. Such a wonderful project for a beautiful park right here in Walton County!
Easy tip to save energy!
Found this video very interesting. Even avid recyclers may be surprised at how many recyclables still make their way to the trash.
Can't think of a better way for us all to conserve our water and save a little money!
