#EarthDay2021 What will you do to make a difference?
#EarthDay2021 is almost here! Where will you make a difference?
This week is National Volunteer Week and we hope that our volunteers know that we appreciate them all the time! Working to end littering, improve recycling and continuing to beautify our community takes everyone. There are tasks that take the smallest amount of attention to major undertakings but our volunteers do it all. Thank you to each of you that helps us to keep Oconee County clean, green and beautiful! #besomebody #volunteersmakeadifference
The lowly sock has so many recycling options, which will we choose

Chairs anyone? TRS can hook you up!
True. This was shared by someone in Mississippi. Litter is everywhere but it shouldn’t be. #KeepItCleanGA #littercosts
See you tomorrow!
Such a beautiful resource for us and a great way to give back. #HeritagePark
Great tips from our neighbors
Don't forget to bring any political signs for recycling!
Here’s a way to do good!
Please remember to secure your load, both inside & outside your vehicle! It’s a perfect day for having the windows down but don’t be a litterbug by allowing items to fly out. All littering is illegal, no matter the size of the item. #keepitclean #EarthMonth2021 #PPE
Remember to utilize the sites today and tomorrow, too! And enjoy your holiday weekend
Let’s Sort This Out, Together! We know recycling can be confusing. We are here to help. Let’s make this easier for you. Certain items, like pizza boxes, that ...were not recyclable in your curbside cart before, may now be recycled in your recycling cart at home. Why? Just like your computer or smart phone, recycling technology changes, too. CHECK LOCALLY to see if your program accepts pizza boxes. Remove food first please! #letssortthisout

Carelessly discarding trash is LITTERally throwing money away! We spend more than $10,000,000 yearly keeping our roadways clear and our drains unclogged from litter. Join us in the fight against litter with #KeepItCleanGA KeepGAClean.com
Small steps can be great changes. Let's work towards #nolitterleft.

Yes! We are asking anyone interested in helping us with our Plogging Our Way Out of 2020 campaign to do just that. Plogging is defined as picking up trash while jogging but you don’t have to jog to participate! Help us to #DoBeautifulThings and #reconsiderlitter by letting us know that you want to help. We have 96# awesome new orange grabbers, thanks to a #KeepAmericaBeautiful and #dart Grant and plenty of trash bags for your use. Let’s finish 2020 with #nolitterleft!
17 volunteers, 3 miles on Norton and Simonton Bridge Roads, 2 hours and 17 bags of litter, a recliner and a car bumper. Thanks again to NOHS Beta Club members who stepped up this morning to help us keep Oconee County clean, green and beautiful!
Here’s some of the fantastic fifteen NOHS Beta Club members on Norton and Simonton Bridge Roads this morning to #DoBeautifulThings in our community! Would you like to make a difference but on your schedule? We have new grabbers and plenty of bags, let us know and we’ll get them to you. #reconsiderlitter #nolitterleft
65 degrees on 12/11, we’lol take it
Thank you to OCHS FFA members who picked up litter on their adopted road today! Whippoorwill looks good y’all! Kari Page Chelsea Begnaud
Last Dirty Dozen Road Cleanup of 2020! Join us Saturday at 10am for tool pickup. The weather will be great while we work to keep Oconee County clean, green and beautiful! #nolitterleft
Let's keep our sunsets free of debris. Although some trash lands in the water directly, much of it travels from farther away via storm drains, wind, or connected rivers and creeks. Wherever you are, dispose of your trash responsibly and remind others to do the same. #reconsiderlitter ( : Skip Kazmarek, GNPA)
While we certainly should #dobeautifulthings and #KeepItCleanOconee for ourselves, we definitely should keep Oconee County clean, green and beautiful for our visitors! We're always working towards #nolitterleft.
Another beautiful day in Heritage Park! #myoconee
We missed you today but you can join us in 2 weeks! We had a large work group who made a lot of progress in removing the invasive Autumn Olive! Tomorrow! Join us at 9 even if you haven’t signed up, we’ll have tools for you! #DoBeautifulThings
Recent EPA estimates show that 68% of the food waste we generate ends up in landfills. Try reducing your waste and composting. EPA Encourages Americans to Avoid Food Waste Over the Holidays As America celebrates the holidays, EPA reminds families and communities to consider the environment when planning their meals and be mindful about wasting food. EPA estimates that more food reaches landfills than any other material in everyday trash, constituting 24 percent of municipal ...solid waste. This wasted food contributes to landfills being the third largest source of human-related methane emissions in the United States. Visit EPA.gov for more tips on how to reduce food waste. #reduction #recycling #composting

Our soil is important everyday but tomorrow we highlight the importance of taking care of our soil for us and future generations. Maintaining healthy ecosystems and human well-being by addressing the growing challenges in soil management, fighting soil biodiversity loss, increasing soil awareness and encouraging others to commit to proactively improve soil health is worth recognizing! #DoBeautifulThings
