The responsibilities of veterinary assistants will be helping doctors with physical examinations, dispensing medications, outpatient/exam room processing, pharmacy duties, radiographs, surgical assistance, provide nursing and comfort care, perform treatments, monitoring of hospitalized ...patients, laboratory diagnostic tests, restocking, cleaning and maintenance of their work areas. Responsibilities may also include assisting the receptionists when needed. Job requirements include being able to work in inclement weather conditions, lift and carry a 50 pound animal, must have the ability to multi-task, work in a fast pace and limited space environment, must be able to stand for up to 10 hours. Weekend and holiday work will be needed. Team members must maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times. Members must be dependable, able to work flexible hours, energetic and self motivated. Must possess strong communication skills, be able to build positive and professional relationships with clients and other staff members. COVID-19 UPDATE: We are temporarily changing our office hours starting Wednesday April 8 to Wednesday April 15. This is an attempt to keep our staff and clients safe and improve social distancing. We will continue to diligently clean and sanitize our hospital for the safety of everyone. Our hours will be as follows: Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm. We will see patients from 8:30 am to 4 pm. Saturday hours will be from 8 am until 12 noon. Thank you for understanding and please stay safe.

As recommended by the CDC, we will be doing our part in taking precautionary measures in protecting our community and staff. ... At this time the CDC reports, We do not have any evidence that companion animals, including pets, can spread COVID-19. With this in mind we want you to know, WE ARE HERE. We will remain open to assist you in your veterinary needs. While we are here we will be diligent in keeping our hospital clean and sanitized as much as possible. Although we are available to serve your fur babies, we must also take precaution with the human attached to the other end of the leash or carrier. We have implemented helpful suggestions to protect everyone. *With schools closed, we understand that not all families can adhere, but if possible, we ask that only ONE healthy authorized adult accompany the patient to the exam. *Many persons with COVID-19 may experience mild symptoms such as cough and runny nose without fever. As there is no way to treat the virus and limited test availability worldwide we are asking that you use caution when deciding whether or not to bring in your pet. Even if your symptoms are mild you may reach out by phone for assistance. *We will be offering curb side pick-up service for food and medications. Please let our receptionist know if you would like to take advantage of this. *We ask that everyone does their best in adhering to social distancing while visiting the hospital.
