Today I was honored to safely spend some time in the studio with one of my daughter's friends from high school who has the MOST beautiful natural hair that I just couldn't wait to photograph! Diontae Black is a talented actor and singer and he has SO much personality! I can't wait to play with these images later today, but for now... the first time I clicked my shutter today to test the lights was the first image I fell in love with. <3 Diontae and his mom graciously made a donation to Black Lives Matter...a cause and an organization that we all believe in passionately. We got some really amazing images (in my not so humble opinion) but for now I give you...

When is the last time you rode a bicycle? Cycling has so many health benefits from physical to mental, plus you can plant your carbon footprint by commuting via bike rather than car. I really need to get my bike out and go for a ride! #HappyHalfBirthdayToMe

I've got a lot on my mind and there are two big announcements I am going to make in the next couple of days. Here's a hint about the first one!

It's safe to say that I'm obsessed with the moon. I take a lot of pictures of it and usually I do my best to maintain a stark contrast between the moon and the black night sky. This morning when I woke up at 1AM with a headache though, I had a very different vision for this image. When you're searching for clarity in life there is often lots of noise. The same is true in photography. Usually we dial down the noise to get a clearer picture. But sometimes the noise is a beautiful sky full of stars that you couldn't even see before.

If you saw my personal post the other day about the bird house, you'll be happy to know it has been completed successfully. Only a little angst. Very few tears. Read the post to find out why! http://kimberlydyann.com/creative-woman-club/

I decided this morning that I wanted to take a picture of a bubble. I waited patiently for the sun to come up. I ate my breakfast. I watched a few of the videos in my class that I am taking. I changed to a 40mm lens because I knew I wanted to get up close. I took my bubble soap outside and sat on the front porch. I tried blowing the bubbles myself but it was really difficult and windy. I tried our bubble machine but it wasn't working, either. Steven woke up and I asked him to blow the bubbles for me. Between the crazy bird, the malfunctioning bubble machine, and the wild wind... I took about 40 pictures. Ladies and gentlemen I present... the first picture I took. #thatshowitalwaysworks #bubblesarebeautiful #onemorerainbow

Today I went out to play with the camera and see how high I could push the shutter speed to take pictures of dandelions in the wind. The other day, I slowed it down as much as I could to get pictures of the rain. It's been a fun experiment and I love playing around to get the results I want! What should I photograph next??

It took me three days just to download all the information that I'm going to have to study to get through my next adventure. These next few months are going to be full of learning. It feels very daunting right now but you know what? I can do this. #look4thegood

Monday is a great day to start something new. If money or time were no object, what would your dream project be?
