January will make two years since I've been practicing real estate. I'm so thankful for this career and all that I've learned along the way. It has been equally challenging and rewarding, and I have never once looked back. I often get asked what got me in to real estate. Before I made the move to real estate, I had been in food and beverage for 10(+) years. As much as I enjoyed the high pace industry of hospitality, I knew it was time to make a career shift. I went to school... for public relations and journalism and while I was in college, I worked in food service, and after graduating, I never left. A few years before making the move to real estate, I began weighing options on other careers. I kept coming back to realty, but was too afraid to make the move and didn't even know where to begin. One Sunday morning, while working in the children's department at church, this wonderful woman working with me told me about her career in real estate and (with out knowing I had been wanting a career move and had considered real estate) she expressed how she thought I would thrive in the industry. That day I decided to start the process. She was kind enough to help me and guide me along the way. A year later, I quit my job in food and beverage, and submerged myself in realty. See more
