Happy Earth Day! Earth Day is a holiday that happens every year on April 22nd. It first began in the United States in 1970 and within 20 years it was being celebrated annually in over 140 countries across the globe. ... It’s a time to raise awareness for this beautiful home we share called Earth (or Gaia) and give some love, care, and attention to our planet. Here are some simple and fun ways to honor Mother Gaia for Earth Day 2021: Plant a tree or garden Growing your own food is a great way to be sustainable, so try planting a small garden. Choose a few of your favorite fruits or veggies such as tomatoes, peppers, or strawberries and watch them grow over the spring and summer! If gardening isn’t for you, you can plant a new tree in your yard, which will bring fresh oxygen, shade, and perhaps a new home for animals. Learn more about your native plants Discover the native plants and butterflies in your area on Native Plant Finder. Make it a fun game by taking a walk in your neighborhood or a local park to see how many native species you can identify. Shop local or sustainable brands Give to the businesses that you care about! Support locals by heading to the farmer’s market for your weekly groceries, eating at local restaurants, and browsing through a local boutique. Shop sustainable and ethical non-local brands such as TOMS or Buddha Pants, where we manufacture locally in Miami and at a small factory in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. Check out this list of sustainable and ethical clothing brands that has got you covered for any type of clothing you desire. Start planning your next trip based on ecotourism Ecotourism is a great way to explore natural environments without damaging or disturbing habitats and also preserving and empowering local communities. Destinations such as the Galapagos, Costa Rica, Iceland, and New Zealand are filled with ecotourism offerings like resorts with organic local food and sustainable excursions. Ride your bike Is there anywhere you can ride your bike to rather than driving this week? Riding your bike not only helps reduce emissions, but is also fun and a great way to get some fresh air and exercise. If not, try going for a bike ride around the neighborhood to enjoy the scenery.

I was raised in the Christian tradition, but Easter isn’t only for Christians. As we welcome this season of hope, there’s something more calling to us this Easter. A deep desire to rise and show up more authentically, more truthfully, more honestly not just for others, but for ourselves.... Rebirth is a theme across many spiritual philosophies. The belief that we can rise above our ego, mind, and death is powerful because it means we’re not just our thoughts, feelings, and physical bodies. We’re part of something greater that isn’t bound by time, space, or form. Easter is intimately linked with the body’s resurrection, a metaphor for waking up to higher consciousness. Each time you let go of old thoughts, beliefs, or behaviors keeping you trapped in fear, pain, or anger, you’re reborn. Easter is a celebration of rebirth, and after an intense year of deep collective awakening in 2020, we now have more clarity and hindsight. The past year has felt like a true physical birth - through the loss and limitation, and the reinvention and transformation. You’ve seen my descent, now watch my rising. Rumi Make this Easter a tribute to your ever-changing nature along with the part of you that never changes: Your eternal spirit. Easter reminds us to rise to move beyond the pain, limitations, and challenges of our physical form. In what areas of your life do you need to rise and expand? Claim that shift. Name it, activate it, and become it. One of my favorite Rumi quotes sums it up best: You were born with potential. You were born with goodness and trust. You were born with ideals and dreams. You were born with greatness. You were born with wings. You are not meant for crawling, so don’t. You have wings. Learn to use them and fly. Wherever you are in the process, may the promise of rebirth illuminate your heart and bring you joy and possibility. Blessings to you & Happy Easter #illunminatingradiance #riseinyourradiance
