100 days until April 15th! We are excited and ready to help you during this first tax season of the new decade!
Today we celebrated the retirement of Carol Ray. Carol has been at KRT for 12 years. Carol's work ethic is second to none. She kept us all straight and always went above and beyond the call of duty. We will greatly miss her, but she won't be far and hopefully will visit often! She will always have a home at KRT! Thank you so much for the years you have given us! Congratulations!

KRT, CPAs would like to announce the newest addition to our staff, Mallory Charlton. Mallory was an intern with us for the 2018 tax season and decided to join us full-time after the completion of her Master’s degree from Georgia Southern University. Everyone please join us in welcoming Mallory to the KRT family. We’re glad to have you on board!
Employers - Please take note if you have temporarily suspended operations or reduced your workforce due to COVID-19. Note: Employees do not need to contact the GADOL office to collect unemployment. The employer MUST file on behalf of the employee or the employer will be liable for any payments made to employees on their behalf. The employee only has to fill out an information sheet to provide to your employer. Please contact your payroll processor or KRT, CPAs if you have any questions.
Valued Clients and Friends, Yesterday, the IRS released tax relief for individuals and businesses. The tax relief postpones various tax filing and payment deadlines that occurred starting on March 3. As a result, affected individuals and businesses will have until July 15, 2020, to file returns and pay any taxes that were originally due during this period. This includes 2019 individual and business returns normally due on April 15, as well as various 2019 business returns due... on March 15. Among other things, this also means that affected taxpayers will have until July 15 to make 2019 IRA contributions. The July 15 deadline also applies to quarterly estimated income tax payments due on April 15 and June 15 and the quarterly payroll and excise tax returns normally due on April 30. It also applies to tax-exempt organizations, operating on a calendar-year basis, that have a 2019 return due on May 15. KRT will continue to process and file returns as normal. For the safety of our staff and clients, we have suspended in-person meetings. We will continue to make ourselves available to you via video and/or phone conferencing. In the event we do not have your 2019 tax information, you can do so through the following methods: 1) Electronically via our secure e-mail link 2) Regular or overnight mail 3) Drop off at our office by utilizing the designated secure drop box which is located just outside the front door of our building. Also, during this period, completed tax returns (with filing instructions) will be delivered to you by either regular or electronic e-mail. If you need assistance with your filing instructions, our staff will be available to assist you via e-mail or phone, as necessary. We hope to resume to our normal mode of operation as quickly as possible; however, we are prepared to continue providing all services for you, without interruption. If you have any particular questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. Sincerely, KRT CPAs, PC
Valued Clients and Others, We understand and share your concerns surrounding the recent Coronavirus outbreak and the speed at which it is spreading. We want you to know that KRT, CPAs is taking the appropriate precautions to help keep our clients and our employees safe. Such measures include avoiding non-essential meetings, encouraging employees to stay home if not feeling well, making hand sanitizer available in our offices, and wiping down counters, computers and door handl...es more frequently than usual. In evaluating all relevant factors, and in review of national/local health guidelines, we have made the decision to discontinue in-person meetings until further notice. This will take effect beginning Monday, March 16, 2020. From that point, we will continue to make ourselves available to you via video and/or phone conferencing. This decision is multi-factored. First, the social responsibility is to do our part in reducing the potential spread of COVID-19 and limit the impact on our healthcare infrastructure. Second, it prioritizes the health and well-being of our highly valued clients, friends and fellow staff members. Finally, it gives us time to evaluate current information as it becomes available and adjust when necessary. We do not currently have any confirmed cases in our immediate community, but want to be conscientious of our responsibilities while being minimally disruptive to clients and others. We hope to resume to our normal mode of operation as quickly as possible; however, we are prepared to continue providing all services for you, without interruption. If you have any particular questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. Sincerely, KRT CPAs, PC

ATTENTION We apologize for the poor quality of this photo, but we had to share this as a warning. This is yet another reminder to use caution when it comes to protecting yourself from scams, including fake invoices like this one. This page looks very official, and it has a fee of $150. Mid way down the document there is a line stating that it is not a government agency, etc. The only reason it wasn't paid is because this person took time to QUESTION the amount and the early due date. Vigilance will always pay off, especially when it comes to protecting yourself and your finances.
