Congratulations to Tavia Smith-Crockett and Dalton White, our ASCE and ALCD Students of the Month! These high achievers are kicking off the semester as first class scholars! We are so proud of you, Tavia and Dalton!

It's that time again! Admissions are in full swing here at the Academy! Our ASCE application window is open through February 28, 2021, for students considering on-campus housing. It's the perfect time to get your application in front of our team! Interested in a campus tour? Be our guest when classes resume on January 11. We are happy to announce that Stuff-A-Bus through Cobb Christmas Inc. will be partnering with KSU PD and stopping on both campuses December 9th to receive collections. All toys, gifts, and canned goods are welcome, but there is an urgent need for children 9-13. If you would like to come out during the times they will be on campus, we would love to see everyone!

This is Noelle. She is the next student we are highlighting for #nationaldisabilityemploymentawarenessmonth. Noelle works at Outdoor Adventures here at Kennesaw State University. She had been doing a great job growing and learning important skills for her professional development. We are so thankful for Outdoor Adventures and appreciate all they have done to partner with our mission!

The next student we are featuring for #NationalDisabilityEmploymentAwarenessMonth is Tomi. He currently works with KSU’s Central Receiving and Distribution Warehouse. He is learning transferable skills that will help him once he graduates in May 2021! He is proud of the work he does and wants everyone to know how much he appreciates his job and supervisors! @tomcoker32

At the Academy for Inclusive Learning and Social Growth we love to encourage our students to advocate for and support one another! Here is a clip of some of our students doing just that! These students showed their support by participating in the Adult Disability Medical Healthcare's fun walk. One of our students has a team called "Running with Ross." This walk supports teens and adults with developmental disabilities. This year ADMH held a virtual fun walk, but Ross and his friend still held their own walk on Kennesaw State University's campus!

We are continuing the celebration for the month of October by featuring Jordan. She works as a receptionist for the Office of the Dean in the WellStar College of Health and Human Services. Through this job opportunity, Jordan has grown in confidence and professionalism. The Dean’s Office has consistently supported the Academy for Inclusive Learning students, and we could not be more thankful. To kick off the celebration, we want to tell you about Carter. He is doing awesome work at the Kennesaw State University bookstore. Carter is a third-year student who is putting his customer service skills to work, and he has enjoyed being a part of their team! The supervisors at the KSU bookstore have been hosting internships for Academy students for over 10 years! October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month. This month celebrates all the wonderful things that people with disabilities bring to the table in the workplace. Please join us on 10/17/2020 from 9am to 12 on the Campus Green to support Adult Disability Medical Healthcare (ADMH) and their annual 1k run to raise funds for the program! Donations to the organization are being accepted here: https://runsignup.com/runningwithross If you are unable to participate, please consider donating what you can to help fund ADMH, a health organization for people with developmental disabilities.
