This afternoon, June 13th, in Atlanta: The fire at Notre Dame de Paris was a terrible event to witness. As we stared at screens showing the entire cathedral roof ablaze - we watched the destruction of the cathedral’s noble 19th c. neo-Gothic crossing spire. Preservationists and architects are debating what course should be pursued in restoring the building. Noted local architectural historian Dr. Robert Craig will present an illustrated lecture sharing his personal view o...f what should be done at Notre Dame under current conditions. Promising to be provocative, the lecture by Prof. Craig will invite post-lecture debate and discussion among all who attend. This event will be of additional interest to attendees of his March lecture, which examined the competing views of John Ruskin and Viollet-le-Duc towards restoration. We invite you to join us Thursday, June 13th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the historic L. P. Grant Mansion at the Atlanta Preservation Center. Reservations are not required. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available. The Lemuel Pratt Grant Mansion is located at 327 St. Paul Avenue SE, Atlanta 30312. On street parking is available on St. Paul Avenue and Grant Street. ADA parking and access can be reached via the APC's Orleans Street entrance.
