While stretching is extremely important in helping with strength and mobility in our dancers, there is a danger of over-stretching. Never apply pressure or fo...rce to create more of a stretch- for example, if you have a student working on his/her middle splits, NEVER go behind them, and push on his/her back to get them closer to the floor. This could lead to muscle tears, joint and tendon strains etc. So while in the moment you may feel like you are benefiting your students, you could actually be injuring them long-term and essentially giving them less range of motion. Here’s our three year old class enjoying some fun fall activities during #BringAFriendWeek Each child received her own copy of the Fall Fun Dance game we played in class to take home and share with her family. We had a spook-tacular time...dancing like autumn leaves and even stirring up our silly Witches Brew using big and small motions. ... #kyzerdance... A place to start, stay, and grow!
